NOTE: There were two restarts of the match when Doring first tried to take a countout and then tried to get himself disqualified to save the title. However in both cases NWA New York owner Chip Stetson came out and told Doring that he had just gotten off the phone with the NWA Championship Committee and they would not accept that kind of behaviour from a champion and had ordered the match to resume.
