Reported by Ernest I Aguilar. The Sports Business Daily website is reporting that the LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan informed his staff via e-mail yesterday that his Senior VP of Tournament Operations and Player Services, Jane Geddes, will be leaving this Friday for a new job at WWE.
She will start with WWE on Monday as the new Vice President of Talent Relations.
"It just felt like the right time in my life to really make a distinct change like that," Geddes said. "I've been around golf for so long that an opportunity to really go outside that - obviously at the WWE, which is a big change from the LPGA - I found that very interesting and really exciting."
She is a two-time major champion and retired in 2003 and has been working for the tour since 2007. She has recently served as LPGA's representative during the initiative to include golf in the 2016 Olympics.
