CM Punk - one of the two current WWE champions - appeared on the B.S. Report radio
show on ESPN, hosted by Bill Simmons, a staffer of ESPN.COM and a big wrestling fan.
Punk said that the decision to stay
with the company came on the same day of Money In The Bank, just ten days ago. He said he made his mind
up to quit the company and get some time off and wasn't trying to sort of
blackmail WWE into giving him more money.
Regarding his promo on Monday Night RAW several weeks ago, Punk said that he wanted to
push the envelope and everything he said was not scripted. He did know that they
would cut him off eventually and realizes that he went over the limit with some
of his remarks.
Talking about his return on TV so soon following the
pay-per-view, Punk said that the angle is hot and wanted to capitalize on it and
with SummerSlam just around the corner it made sense to
come back quickly as he still loves wrestling.
You can listen to the
show here.
