WrestleMania XXVIII gets an estimated 1.3 million buys

WWE today announced that WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami set new records in terms of both pay-per-view buys and gross sales. The pay-per-view preliminary estimates have come in at 1.3 million buys with global gross sales in excess of $67 million including the ticket revenue. Rumors were that WWE set a higher total buys but lowered their expectations in the final weeks leading up the event. A tweet from an ESPN reporter last week said that WrestleMania is estimated to have made 1.9 million buys, something that didn't turn up to be true.
