| Reported by Ernest I Aguilar Zevallos CM Punk announced on Monday Night RAW that July 17 will be his last day with the WWE as his contract comes to an end. Punk became the number one contender for the WWE title on the show yesterday as well and July 17 is also the date for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. "When Sunday bleeds into Monday, I'm leaving," Punk said following his win against Del Rio and Mysterio, assuring fans that he will be leaving with the WWE title. Punk's departure from WWE - or as he referred to it as "World Wrestling Entertainment despite the company changing names - comes to no surprise as it has been rumored that he would be quitting once his deal expires. "I knew I was gone at the beginning of the year. I just woke up one day and I knew. That's the way I work a lot of the time. I think it's creepy too, but it's really helpful," Punk then wrote on Twitter. "I knew I'd be history by July. Come say goodbye on July 17th. I promise to go out with a bang. Trust me. XxX" He made his WWE debut in July 2006 on the ECW brand before moving to RAW and Smackdown. |
