| Reported by Earnest Aguilar Zevallos Ron Simmons was announced on RAW as the latest Legend to enter the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2012. Simmons' 24 year wrestling career started in the NWA and then on to WCW where he became the first ever African-American World Heavyweight champion in 1992 after defeating Vader. Simmons kept the WCW title for five months before eventually losing it back to Vader later in the year. In 1994 he moved to ECW and then in 1996 joined WWE as Faarooq. He went on to be the leader of the Nation of Domination and then formed the Acolytes and the APA with John "Bradshaw" Layfield. During his WCW run he won the U.S. tag team titles and World Tag Team titles on one occasion and then won the WWE Tag Team titles on three other different occasions. It is believed that JBL will be inducting Simmons in the Hall of Fame. |
