Smackdown TV Report 1/27/12

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar
The Smack is being laid Down for us tonight in Tucson Arizona. The show opens with the Big Show apologizing for running over AJ recently. Show claims that he already apologized to AJ in person and she immediately accepted, but he's still clearly upset. Show says this was not an isolated incident; even as a child his size caused him to unintentionally hurt people.

When the Big Show joined the WWE, he felt like he had found a home, a place where he belonged. But after the incident with AJ, Big Show has started seriously contemplating retirement after his triple threat match at the Royal Rumble. Big Show is interrupted by Daniel Bryan.

Bryan claims that if Big Show was sincere, he'd retire right now. Bryan tells Show he though the WWE was for athletes, not genetic freaks. Before Big Show can mention Andre the Giant, Bryan tells him he's no Andre. Bryan continues yelling at the Big Show and poking him in the chest. Eventually, Bryan slaps Big Show hard across the face, twice.

Big Show finally loses his temper and shoves Bryan into the corner. Show calls Bryan an arrogant little ass and throws him across the ring. Before the beating can go any further, Mark Henry comes out and interrupts them.

Henry says he doesn't care about the Big Shows feelings, or Daniel Bryan's Napoleon complex, or a 95 lb girl in a training bra. Henry also tells Bryan that after the way he weaseled out of their lumberjack match last week, he was going to tear him apart.

Bryan blames the way last week's match ended on Teddy Long for putting the Lumberjacks out there and even claims to be just as disappointed as Mark was. At this point, Teddy Long comes out and makes a match for later tonight: Big Show versus Mark Henry. Daniel Bryan seems pleased.

Commercial

Match #1: IC champ Cody Rhodes versus Justin Gabriel.

Justin starts things off with some kicks and punches, Cody responds with a spinebuster. Cody stomps on Gabriel on the mat and then hits him with a knee strike when he gets back to his feet. Cody takes Justin down with a side Russian leg sweep and then ties up his arm. Justin fights his way out and takes Cody over with a monkey flip.

Justin hits Cody with a series of kicks, finishing with a leaping spin kick. Justin follows up with a flying forearm that sends Cody sprawling to the floor. Justin shoots himself over the top rope and hits Cody with a twisting senton. Gabriel rolls Cody back into the ring and hits him with a springboard cross body, but Rhodes rolls through it and covers Justin for a 2 count.

Gabriel slams Cody to the mat and then goes for another springboard maneuver but misses. Cody hits Gabriel with his "beautiful disaster" (a springboard kick) and finishes him off with CrossRhodes (a spinning facebuster)

In the back, Santino has more suggestions for his boss, Teddy Long. Santino's first idea is for a loser leaves earth match, in which the loser is literally put into space. Teddy doesn't go for that so Santino suggests a new tag team: SanToshi! The team would consist of Santino Marella and Yoshi Tatsu, or, as he's known by Santino; Toshi Yatsu. Yoshi prefers the name "Yoshino", probably because his part of the name is spelled correctly and comes first that way. Santino prefers Santoshi, but either way, Teddy approves of the creation of the team.

They are interrupted by Drew McIntyre. Drew is here for part one of his weekly ritual: He begs Teddy not to fire him, Teddy says win tonight or you are fired. Part two will come later when he loses and Teddy still doesn't fire him. Teddy tells Drew he will be wrestling Sheamus. It looks like Sheamus gets an easy win this week!

Commercial

Match #2: Sheamus versus Drew McIntyre.

Sheamus starts things off with several punches; Drew responds with a punch and a kick. Sheamus takes Drew down with a clothesline and then pummels him. Drew tries to fight back with a kick, but Sheamus quickly gets Drew up on his shoulders and hits him with a rolling fireman's carry slam. Drew retreats to the ropes, and then grabs Sheamus by the head and snaps his neck down over the top rope. Drew pounds on Sheamus for a while and then slams him to the mat.

Drew stays on offense and hits Sheamus with a punch and a suplex. Drew lands a kick to the back before Sheamus starts to turn things around. Sheamus shoves Drew to the corner and pummels him. Sheamus hits Drew with a clothesline and then a front slam. Drew lands a punch, but Sheamus responds with a Brogue kick for the win. Drew is supposed to get fired now, but I'm pretty sure we'll see him begging for his job next week. Call me psychic.

Commercial

This entire segment consisted of a Royal Rumble preview video, and a brief look at "SanToshi" before the next commercial.

Match #2: Santino and Yoshi versus Epico and Primo.

Santino and Primo start the match off. Santino gets the early advantage, hitting Primo with an armdrag and then spinning on his back like an amateur wrestler high on coke. Santino takes Primo down again with a leg trip and then tags in Yoshi. Yoshi comes off the top rope and hits Primo's arm. Yoshi hits Primo with a chop, an Irish Whip, and then a kick. Primo tags in Epico and Epico takes Yoshi down with a butterfly suplex.

Epico grabs Yoshi by the head but Yoshi fights his way out. Yoshi tries, unsuccessfully, to pin Epico with a backslide and then tags in Santino. Santino lands several punches and then uses a split to dodge a counter punch from Epico. Yoshi and Primo get involved in the ring until Yoshi takes Primo to the floor. Santino sets up the Cobra but Epico dodges it and hits Santino with a backstabber for the win.

In the back, Daniel Bryan approaches Mark Henry. Daniel tries to convince Mark Henry to intentionally injure the Big Show in their match tonight. Mark probably wanted to hurt him anyway, but this does make Bryan look like a sneaky little jerk. Commercial

Match #3: Wade Barrett versus Randy Orton.

Before the match, Barrett claims Orton will not compete tonight. Barrett claims that while Orton's doctors may say he can compete, he's spiritually broken after Barrett tossed him down a flight of stairs. Barrett shows us the footage from their recent falls count anywhere match in which Orton ends up unconscious at the bottom of a flight of stairs.

Randy Orton is shown in the back walking angrily towards the ring. As Orton enters the arena, Barrett runs out to attack. The two men brawl on the entry ramp and the match never even gets started. Orton gets the better of the exchange, hitting Barrett with punches, a European uppercut, and a clothesline. Several refs are unable to break up the fight so Teddy Long sends several wrestlers from the back to break it up.

Barrett gets in a cheap shot while Orton is held back. Orton eventually breaks free and spears Barrett. Barret retreats to the locker room while Orton is held back in the ring by Trent Barreta, Reks and Hawkins, and the Usos. Randy RKOs everyone in the ring; first Reks and Hawkins, then Barretta, and finally the Usos.

Commercial

When we return, Daniel Bryan is asking Kaitlyn to do a favor for her best friend, AJ. Bryan wants Kaitlyn to tell the Big Show that Mark Henry intends to injure him tonight. Kaitlyn thinks this is more of a favor for Bryan than for AJ, and asks Bryan how he really feels about AJ. Bryan says that he likes to keep his feelings private, but the sooner she talks to the Big Show, the better.

Match #4: Hunico with Camacho versus Ted DiBiase.

DiBiase (sporting a heavily taped wrist) starts things off with a hip toss and a kick to the head. Hunico responds by attacking the injured wrist of DiBiase with a punch and a kick. Hunico then wraps up DiBiase's wrist and squeezes, turning up the pressure. Dibiase punches his way out and hits Hunico with a clothesline.

DiBiase tries to hit Dream Street, but Hunico blocks the attempt and drives both knees into DiBiase's injured wrist. Hunico hits DiBiase with an Angle slam for the win. After the match Hunico and Camacho double team DiBiase. After beating DiBiase inside the ring, the heels smash his wrist on the steel steps outside the ring.

In the back Teddy and Aksana are interrupted by Natalya. Natalya wants a rematch with Tamina, who she referred to as a "whack job". Aksana repeats the word "whackjob" and tells Natalya what she does to Teddy in private is her own business. Teddy books a match between Natalya and Aksana. Apparently someone farted, because everyone including Santino leaves holding their noses.

Commercial

Match #5: Alex Riley versus the Funkasaurus Brodus Clay with his funky dancers; Cameron and Naomi.

Alex appears to like Clay's move and shows off a few lame moves of his own. Brodus hits him with a T Bone suplex, a corner splash, and a crossbody (that he calls "what the funk") for the win.

After the match, Kaitlyn can be seen talking to the Big Show in the backstage area.

Commercial

When we return, we see a very, very long recap of Zach Ryder getting beaten down by Kane on Raw. The clip ends with Eve telling Cena it's all his fault just before leaving with Zach in the ambulance. Josh asks Cena how he feels and Cena angrily slaps the mic out of his hand.

Match #6: Aksana versus Natalya.

Aksana wins by rollup in just a few seconds. Natalya's win/loss record is as bad as Drew McIntryre's. After the match, Natalya cheap shots Aksana and puts her in the Sharpshooter. Aksana is saved by Tamina, who runs in and hits Natalya with a Samoan Drop and a Superfly Splash from the top rope.

Commercial

Match #7: Big Show versus Mark Henry.

Daniel Bryan comes out from the back to watch the match. Big Show starts off with a kick, a punch, and a headbutt. Henry rolls to the floor and the Big Show pursues. After beating Henry some more, Big Show rolls him back into the ring. Big Show hits Henry with a couple big chops in the corner and another punch. Henry lands several punches of his own before being knocked down by the Big Show. Henry falls on his face and rolls to the floor.

Commercial

When we return, the match has apparently ended. Mark Henry is gone, counted out. It looks like something went very wrong with this match. For some reason they had the finish to the main event occur during a commercial break of a taped show.

It's not as though SmackDown is live, it's taped on Tuesdays; so something clearly has gone wrong. Henry may be genuinely injured. Daniel Bryan sneaks into the ring with a steel chair and beats the Big Show with it over and over again for several minutes. Eventually Bryan puts the Big Show in the Lebell Lock, and Show looks like he wants to tap out. Big Show powers out instead and hits Bryan with a chokeslam.

Bryan retreats to the floor before Show can hit him with a big right hand to the face. Big Show stands triumphant in the ring and Daniel Bryan crawls away as SmackDown comes to a close.

Smackdown TV Report 1/20/12

Reported by Earnest I Aguilar
The Smack is being laid Down for us tonight in Sin City Las Vegas! The show opens with a recap of the Daniel Bryan/Big Show match from last week, which ended with the Big Show accidentally running over Daniel Bryan's girlfriend and sending her to the hospital. The Big Show is shown following the stretcher weeping while Daniel Bryan calls him a bastard.

Bryan reminds us that Big Show weighs over 400 lbs, and AJ weighs only 95. Bryan claims Big Show hurt her on purpose, because he's still bitter that Bryan ended the Big Show's title reign after only 45 seconds. Bryan says that AJ insisted on being at ringside because she loves him; and he admires her as well.

He promises to dedicate his match tonight against Mark Henry to his girlfriend AJ. He also tells us the Big Show is not there tonight, which is good, because otherwise Daniel says he would not be held responsible for what he would do to him. Bryan finally tells us that the Big Show should do the right thing and just quit, before he hurts another innocent person.

In the back, Santino, Alicia Fox, and others are gambling. Teddy Long is talking to Aksana in front of a gimmick match roulette wheel. Aksana says she wants to have a pillow fight with Teddy.

Cody Rhodes, the self described "last hope" for the Rhodes family, interrupts. Cody has a match tonight, so he spins the wheel and it lands on "player's choice." Cody as the player, gets to pick his opponent, and he picks...Hornswoggle.

Commercial

Match #1: Cody Rhodes versus Hornswoggle.

Cody starts to smack Hornswoggle around ringside even before the match begins. Justin Gabriel comes out to save Hornswoggle and asks Cody to "pick on someone his own size." Cody agrees to a non title match.

Cody Rhodes versus Justin Gabriel.

Cody starts things off with some kicks and punches; Justin responds with some forearm shots. Gabriel whips Cody to the ropes, baseball slides underneath him and then hits him with a dropkick. Cody hits Gabriel and then drops to his back and punches up at Gabriel.

Cody goes for a cover and gets two. Cody hits Justin with a gordbuster and then wraps up his chin and left arm. Cody stomps on Gabriel, goes for a cover and gets another 2 count. Cody puts Justin in a crossface; Gabriel fights his way out and hits Cody with an elbow drop. Justin hits Cody with an Enzuigiri and then climbs to the top to try for his 450 splash. Cody rolls out of the way before Justin can jump.

Justin tries for a quick roll up and then a backslide, getting a near-fall each time. Justin hits Cody with a springboard crossbody and gets another 2 count. Cody gets to his feet and snaps Justin's head down onto the top rope. Cody hits Justin with CrossRhodes for the win. Maybe Justin should have let Hornswoggle take the match; I'm pretty sure he's got a better won/loss record.

In the back, Mark Henry and Teddy Long are standing in front of the roulette/match wheel. Mark Henry thinks this entire concept is stupid. Henry also blames Teddy for letting AJ get hurt last week, and says it will be Teddy's fault when Daniel Bryan gets hurt this week. Teddy asks Henry to spin the wheel, and Henry orders Teddy to do it for him. Teddy spins and it stops at Lumberjack match. Henry promises to put Teddy's "pipsqueak" champion in the Hall of Pain tonight.

Commercial

When we return, we're shown a recap of Primo and Epico winning the tag titles from Air Boom at an untelevised house show in Oakland.

Match #2: Primo and Epico with Rosa versus the Usos in a tornado match.

All 4 men will be allowed to compete in the ring at the same time. The Usos get the early advantage and manage to isolate and double team Primo; hitting him with a backbreaker/ top rope dive. Epico gets back in and the champs throw Jey Uso out of the ring and then go after Jimmy.

The champs double team Jimmy, eventually dropping him with a double suplex and going for a cover. Jimmy kicks out and Jey comes in to help. The Usos briefly regain the advantage and hit Epico and Primo with running ass bumps to the face in opposite corners. Rosa Mendes distracts the Usos and Primo delivers a backstabber to Jimmy for the win.

Commercial

When we return, Teddy and Aksana are once again flirting in front of the roulette wheel. They are interrupted by Sheamus, who is there to find out what the stipulation will be for his match tonight with Wade Barrett. Sheamus spins the wheel and it stops on Tables match. Back in the ring, Lillian Garcia introduces the Funkasaurus Brodus Clay. Brodus will be competing in a dance off next.

Commercial

When we return, Vicky Guerrero is walking to the ring and yelling "Excuse me." Vicky will be Brodus' opponent tonight. Vicky dances and she sucks, although it was mildly amusing for a second or two.

Brodus Clay is next and he sucks a little less, and he has professional dancers with him that do some actual, professional dancing. Brodus wins. After the 'contest', William Regal comes out to defend Vicky's honor. When Regal enters the ring, Brodus says he wants to see what he's got, unless he's a funky chicken.

Regal accepts, and dances moderately not embarrassing, but a bit silly. Brodus interrupts Regal's routine with a running cross body.

Commercial

Match #3: Wade Barrett versus Sheamus in a tables match.

Wade starts things off with several punches. Sheamus responds with several punches of his own and then slams Barrett's face into the corner. Barrett fights back but Sheamus gets the better of the exchange and throws Barrett over the top rope. Sheamus goes out to the floor after Wade, but Barrett slams Sheamus into the side of the ring.

Wade grabs a table, but Sheamus attacks Wade and then sets up the table himself. Sheamus picks Barrett up for the Celtic Cross, but Barrett slides out and pushes Sheamus into the steel ring post. Wade rolls Sheamus in and beats on him. Barrett puts Sheamus in a Muay Thai clinch and starts bringing knees up into his face. Barrett hits Sheamus with a big boot to the face that knocks him down to the edge of the ring.

Wade tries to suplex Sheamus out of the ring onto a table on the floor, but Sheamus fights his way out. Sheamus traps Barrett in the ropes and repeatedly pounds on his chest. Sheamus tries to knock Barrett off the edge of the ring and through the table below, but Barrett flies over the table, and not through it. Sheamus goes out after Barrett and rolls him back into the ring.

Sheamus grabs a table and walks to the ring with it, but Barrett kicks the table into Sheamus. Wade slides the table into the ring and then rolls Sheamus in. Wade sets up the table in the ring and turns back towards Sheamus. Sheamus hits Wade with a couple double axe handle blows and a front slam. Sheamus puts Barrett on the table and climbs to the top rope. Wade cuts Sheamus off before he can jump, and the two men exchange punches.

Barrett tries for a superplex, but Sheamus blocks it and hits Wade with a headbutt. Sheamus hits Barrett with a backbreaker and then props the table up in the corner. Sheamus prepares to put Barrett through the table when he is distracted by Jinder Mahal. Wade takes advantage of the distraction and slams Sheamus through the table for the win.

After the match, Jinder Mahal attacks Sheamus. Sheamus fights back and hits Jinder with a Brogue kick. Sheamus picks Jinder up and then drives him through the other table.

Commercial

Match #4: Ted DiBiase versus Hunico with Camacho in a flag match.

The first person to retrieve their flag from atop a pole wins. Hunico gets the early advantage, but DiBiase reverses a hurricanrana and plants Hunico face down on the mat. Ted tries for the flag first, but Hunico knocks him down. Hunico tries for his flag (it's Mexican, Ted's is US, just in case you didn't know) but Ted drops him to the mat with an electric chair.

After an Irish Whip, Hunico backdrops Ted all the way to the floor and then tries to retrieve his flag again. Ted runs into the ring at the last second to push Hunico off, but appears to have hurt himself when he landed outside the ring and is forced to crawl towards his flag. Ted starts to climb, but Hunico stops him. Ted pushes Hunico off and then hits him with Dream Street. Ted climbs up the pole and retrieves his flag to win the match.

Commercial

When we return, Teddy Long is talking to Drew McIntyre. Teddy told Drew that he was warned; start winning or get fired. Drew kept losing, so Teddy fires him. Teddy's new assistant, Santino Marella, interrupts and asks Teddy to reconsider. Santino beat Drew a couple weeks ago, but some say he was lucky.

Santino wants to prove it was no fluke and tells Teddy he wants to wrestle him again. Teddy agrees and tells Drew this is really his last chance. They spin the wheel to determine the stipulation, and the wheel lands on "blindfold match."

Commercial

Match #5: Santino Marella versus Drew McIntyre in a blindfold match.

It's really a large black hood, not a blindfold. They even have a tiny little black hood for Santino's cobra. Both men do some silly Karate kicks that miss wildly. Eventually, Santino gets the idea to use the crowd to help him. Santino begins pointing, and the closer he gets to Drew, the more the crowd cheers.

Drew accidentally hits the steel ring post at one point. Drew eventually takes a quick peek to figure out where Santino is and tries a running kick but misses. Santino uses the crowd again to tell him when he is getting close, and with the crowds help, Santino is able to hit Drew with the Cobra for the win. It may have been a tainted victory though; the Cobra's hood came off during the match.

Commercial

Match #6: Daniel Bryan versus Mark Henry for Bryan's heavyweight title in a Lumberjack match.

Bryan starts the match off with a kick and Henry pushes Bryan to the mat. Bryan orders the Lumberjacks not to touch him. Bryan lands another kick and Henry responds with a headbutt that sends Bryan out to the floor. Bryan once again angrily orders the Lumberjacks not to touch him.

Henry beats Bryan down with clubbing blows and then drives his shoulder into his gut. Henry hits Bryan with another headbutt and some more clubbing blows. Henry whips Bryan to the ropes and Bryan tries a shoulder block. Bryan bounces off Mark Henry and gets knocked to the floor.

The Lumberjacks roll Bryan in, as is their job and he again yells at them for it. Bryan appears to be intentionally antagonizing the Lumberjacks.

Commercial

When we return, Bryan lands a punch, but Henry barely notices and throws Bryan across the ring. Henry presses Bryan into the ropes, but Bryan manages to escape. Bryan dives into Henry's knee and takes the big man down. Bryan lands several strikes including a series of stiff kicks. Henry pushes Bryan away, but Bryan responds with a running drop kick and a vicious kick to the head.

Bryan goes for a cover and gets a 2 count, but Henry's kick out sends Bryan out to the floor. Bryan angrily stares at the lumberjacks and then re enters the ring. Henry knocks Bryan down and then throws him across the ring a couple times. Bryan hits Henry in the face with his boot as Henry charges, but it only seems to slow him down.

Henry knocks Bryan down with a clothesline and goes for a cover but gets only 2. Henry military presses Bryan and then throws him out to the Lumberjacks. Bryan starts fighting with the Lumberjacks as they force him back into the ring. Bryan hits Henry with a dropkick that sends Henry out to the floor for the first time.

The Lumberjacks all attack Mark Henry. They already appear to be in a bad mood from all the abuse Bryan has heaped on them, but Henry doesn't have any friends either, so they gang up on him outside the ring. Bryan gets in a couple cheap shots on Mark Henry and on some of the Lumberjacks as well. Wade, Cody, and several other Lumberjacks enter the ring and go after Daniel Bryan.

Outside the ring, Mark Henry throws ALL the remaining Lumberjacks off him at the same time. Henry gets back in the ring and picks Bryan up to hit him with the World's Strongest Slam. Cody Rhodes hits Bryan in the back while Henry is carrying him, knocking them both backwards.

All the lumberjacks enter the ring and start fighting each other. In the chaos, Daniel Bryan crawls out of the ring, grabs his title, and cautiously walks away. Eventually, Mark Henry slides out from the bottom of a large pile of wrestlers and rolls to the floor.

As Bryan makes his way to the locker room, he is cut off by Teddy Long. Teddy asks what the meaning of that was, and Bryan starts yelling at him. Bryan is angry that he had to fight the Big Show in a no DQ match last week and Mark Henry in a Lumberjack match this week and asks Teddy if he's going to have to fight nude next.

Teddy says no, of course, this is a PG show after all. Teddy then tells Bryan he will have to defend his title against the Big Show and Mark Henry at the Royal Rumble in a triple threat steel cage match. I think Bryan would have preferred to wrestle naked. Me to. Bryan stares angrily as SmackDown goes off the air.

Smackdown TV Report 1/13/12

Reported by Earnest I Aguilar
The Smack is being laid Down for us tonight in Laredo Texas. The show begins with a recap of last week's title match between Daniel Bryan and the Big Show, and then hypes their no DQ rematch for later tonight.

After the intro segment ends, we go to Lillian Garcia in the ring. Lillian introduces Daniel Bryan. Bryan makes his way to the ring to a smattering of boos from the Texas crowd. Bryan tells us that he was just as disappointed as the rest of us with the result of his last match against the Big Show.

He's always dreamt of being world champion, and he wants to be a fighting champion. That's why after the Big Show was disqualified in their last match, Bryan told him he would give him a rematch any time he wanted. The crowd seems to question his sincerity, and Bryan tells them not to believe what they hear or read on the internet.

Bryan says they should be mad at Mark Henry, because this is all his fault; he's the one that attacked Bryan and caused the Big Show to get disqualified. Bryan goes on to say Henry should have been suspended for what he did, and then Mark Henry comes out to interrupt.

Henry tells Bryan that he spoke to Teddy Long, and Teddy told him he was banned from ringside tonight. Bryan seems pleased with that, but then Mark Henry adds that since he never received his championship rematch, he will face the winner of tonight's match next week. Bryan questions the fairness of having to beat the Big Show three times in a row (1-when he cashed in his briefcase, and 2- last week's DQ, and 3- later tonight) and then being forced to defend against the World's Strongest Man the very next week, but then says it's OK with him.

When we return, we're shown the announcement of Edge's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame from this past Raw. In the back, Santino Marella is talking to Teddy Long about ideas he has for matches. Santino suggests a steel cage match with a giant cage, a medium cage, and a small cage. Santino also wants to reverse the decision made by Jack Tunney made years ago and once again allow reptiles. Teddy doesn't seem to like any of the ideas Santino comes up with.

David Otunga interrupts their discussion to tell Teddy he has a list of people that John Laurinaitis (Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, and the interim general manager of Monday Night Raw, in case you hadn't heard that) wants him to look over. Santino interjects with one more match idea: Santino Marella versus David Potunga.

Teddy likes this idea and Santino seems proud of himself. Teddy sends Otunga and Santino away to prepare for their match when the door knocks. Teddy assumes it is Aksana, but it can't be because there is no sexy saxophone music playing. It's probably impossible for Aksana to sneak up on anyone. Teddy call out "coming baby girl" as Drew McIntyre enters his office.

Oddly, Drew doesn't seem pleased at being called "Baby girl" by Teddy. Teddy doesn't seem pleased to see Drew, and tells him he'd better win tonight because he is still in danger of getting fired.

Commercial

Show tells us he doesn't want to hurt Bryan, he just wants to get his title back. Daniel Bryan interrupts and asks Big Show if he is trying to take his title and his girl, and then tells Big Show he's not going to let him have either. Big Show tells Bryan the Heavyweight championship changed him, but then assures him he can take care of that problem by beating him later tonight.

Bryan tells Big Show he should just go, and he goes. Bryan then asks AJ if she's OK and if Big Show tried to intimidate her. AJ says she's fine, and Bryan tells her he'll always be her knight in shining armor to protect her. Bryan then reminds her that earlier tonight she said she loved him, and then asks her how MUCH she loves him. Bryan tells AJ they should go somewhere and talk.

Wade ends his remarks by thanking the crowd (which boos him) for their time, and saying "God Save the Queen."

Big Show pummels Bryan and then sets up the announce table to put him through it. Bryan gets out of the choke slam attempt and lands a couple kicks.

Bryan goes back to the chair and lands a couple more chair shots and then climbs up to the edge of the ring apron. Bryan comes flying off the ring apron towards the Big Show, but Show chops him out of the air. Big Show laughs off Bryan's attacks and then chases him around the ring. Bryan runs around the ring, and as Big Show pursues, he accidentally runs into AJ and flattens her.

Big Show looks horrified as AJ lay motionless. Big Show stops to check on her, and eventually Daniel Bryan does too. The medics load AJ onto a stretcher and cart her out of the arena. As they walk away, Bryan starts yelling at the Big Show, telling him she weighs 95 pounds and he weighs 500. Bryan acts like Big Show did it on purpose and calls him a bastard as the Big Show looks upset. The show ends with Daniel Bryan yelling at the Big Show while the Big Show weeps.

Smackdown TV Report 12/16/11

REported by Earnest I Aguilar
The Smack is being laid Down for us tonight in Raleigh North Carolina. The show begins with Josh Matthews interviewing fellow announcer Booker T in the ring.

Josh asks Booker his thoughts about his feud with Cody Rhodes and their Intercontinental title match this Sunday at the TLC (Tables Ladders and Chairs) Pay Per View. Booker says he's going to give Cody the beating of his life and take his title from him. Josh asks Booker if he will return to the ring full time, and Booker says he doesn't know. Just then they are interrupted by Cody Rhodes.

Rhodes acknowledges that in a fit of nostalgia the crowd will probably go crazy for Booker, and that if this were a movie, Booker would win. However, Cody claims the reality is that Booker T's legs will start to feel old, the ring rust will show, and Cody will defeat Booker T. Booker asks Cody about the reality of him whooping Cody's behind, but Cody laughs him off. Cody tells Booker that he has another match with Daniel Bryan later tonight, and that if Booker interferes as he has done twice recently, he will lose his title shot and possibly get suspended.

Cody asks Booker T to get out of the ring and at the ends adds...SUCKA! Daniel Bryan's music hits and Bryan makes his way to the ring.

Epico and Primo turn the match around and do some double team work of their own. Jey Uso fights back and lands several strikes, a flying corkscrew forearm, and then a running butt bump. Smackdown TV Report 12/9/11

Reported by Earnest I Aguilar Zevallos
The Smack is being laid Down for us tonight in Jacksonville Kentucky. Before the show even began, Cody Rhodes attacked Booker T from behind as Booker made his way to the announce table. Booker gets taken away, apparently to the hospital. Cody makes his way over to the announce table to take Booker's seat as the show begins.

Lillian Garcia makes her way to the ring to announce her return as the WWE's ring announcer, but is cut off by Cody Rhodes before she gets to thank the audience for welcoming her back. Cody says no one cares that she is back and no one noticed she was gone.

Cody does like the symmetry of one announcer returning (Lillian) just moments after he took another announcer (Booker T) out of commission. Cody thinks people are more interested in finding out who will replace Booker tonight at the announce table and spit the mindless 1st grade cliches that Booker always spouts, or talk about Booker's fave 5 (which consists of about 11 people) and Cody announces that he will be taking over for Booker tonight.

Cole says having Cody there is like having Gordon Solie calling the matches. I don't think Gordon Solie would have been able to call a match sitting next to Michael Cole. Solie took commentary very seriously; Cole usually seems unaware that there are matches to call because he's too preoccupied with his own bullshit.

Cole contributes nothing positive to the show: he only serves to distract people from what's happening in the ring. The sad thing is I actually think he's a reasonably talented performer; he conveys anger really well, he is very hate-able, but he is constantly taking attention away from the matches and it's damaging an otherwise entertaining show. I'll try not to mention him again this report; I've already wasted too much space on him.

Match #1: Wade Barrett versus Ezekiel Jackson in a "Beat the Clock challenge" match.

Later tonight Randy Orton will face Dolph Ziggler in a "beat the clock challenge" match. Barrett and Orton will be competing to see who can win their match faster, and whoever does gets to pick the stipulation in their match at the TLC Pay Per View in 2 weeks.

The two men lock up in the middle of the ring and Wade tries to roll Jackson up early, but Jackson gets loose and takes Barrett down instead. Both men get back to their feet and Wade gets Jackson in a headlock. Jackson escapes and hits Wade with a back elbow, beats Barrett down and unsuccessfully goes for a cover. Wade slides out to the floor to regroup.

Wade gets back up to the ring apron; Jackson shoulder blocks him and then clotheslines him, causing Barrett to fall back to the floor. Jackson pulls Wade back into the ring and then shoulder blocks him three times in the corner. Jackson gives Barrett and Irish Whip and Barrett dives into Jackson's knee, sending him crashing to the canvas. Wade rolls Jackson up but Jackson kicks out.

Wade hits Jackson with several knees to the back and goes for another cover but Jackson kicks out again. Barrett applies a chin lock to Jackson but Jackson fights his way out. Wade hits Jackson with a pump handle slam and gets another near fall.

Commercial

When we return, Wade has Jackson in a chin lock. So far 6:15 seconds have gone by in this match. Jackson frees himself by getting to his feet and backing Barrett up into the corner. Jackson lands 3 clotheslines, a few punches, and a side slam. Jackson goes for a cover but gets only 2. Jackson bodyslams Barrett twice in a row and then tries to get him up in the torture rack, but Barrett slides out. Wade lands a kick and then tries to get Jackson up on his shoulder for Wasteland (forward fireman's carry slam) but Jackson escapes.

Wade hits Jackson with a spinning side slam and covers him for the win. Time elapsed: 7 minutes and 53 seconds. Wade will get to pick the stipulation for his match with Orton at TLC unless Orton can beat Dolph Ziggler in 7:53 or less.

After the match, Barrett says he needs to get a title shot and Orton is in his way. Barrett reminds us he has beaten Orton several times already, and then claims that the only voice Randy Orton is hearing in his head now is Barrett's.

Commercial

When we return, David Otunga is asking Teddy Long to expunge his loss last week from the holiday edition of Smackdown hosted by Mick Foley. Otunga claims he was only there for a Christmas party and should not have been forced to wrestle, especially since he's a Raw wrestler, not a SmackDown wrestler. Teddy reminds David that since he works for the WWE, he's obliged to follow the rulings of whoever is in charge, whether it's on Raw or Smackdown. Teddy then puts Otunga in a match for later tonight with Sheamus.

Back in the ring, Josh Matthews introduces Daniel Bryan and asks him about his recent steel cage match for the heavyweight title against Mark Henry. Bryan admits he's hurt, but that the disappointment is more painful than the physical pain.

Daniel is about to tell us something his father used to tell him until he's interrupted by Michael Cole. Cole calls Bryan some mean names and claims Bryan never earned a title shot. Bryan reminds Cole that Bryan DID earn his title shot by making Cole's new broadcast partner Cody Rhodes tap out two weeks ago, and then threatens to make Cole tap out right now.

Bryan goes after Cole but is blindsided by Cody Rhodes. Cody beats Bryan down, attacking his injured ribs, and then walks back to the locker room.

DiBiase knocks Jinder down with a clothesline, but Jinder slams Ted into the corner and hits him with a pair of high knees. Jinder looks angry, but Ted suddenly rolls him up for the win!

Just before the commercial break, there was a sign that read "Gobbledygooker" equals ratings. I hope Vince knows that sign must have been a joke.

Commercial

Big Show tells us he won the heavyweight title 9 years ago from Brock Lesnar, and he thinks it's about time he became champion again. While Big Show is talking, Mark Henry comes out to interrupt. Henry says he's not 100% right now, but will be at the PPV, and he promises to give him all he can handle.

But first Mark wants to talk to the Big Show, but he wants the Big Show to promise not to attack him. Show declines at first but then reluctantly agree. Henry tells Show they've both been champion, and he hopes they have a good match and find out who the better man is. Henry then extends his hand, and the Big Show eventually reluctantly accepts it.

Before leaving the ring, Henry hits Big Show with a cheap shot, but is then speared by the Big Show. Big Show beats on Henry inside the ring and out of it, and finally smashes Henry's back and injured leg with a steel chair.

Commercial

Match # 4: David Otunga versus Sheamus, with Hornswoggle as the guest ring announcer.

Hornswoggle was given the gift of speech by Santa last week, but oddly Santa didn't give the Leprechaun an Irish accent. Is it possible Hornswoggle isn't a real leprechaun, or did Santa just mess up?

Otunga starts the match of by getting behind Sheamus, but Sheamus escapes with an elbow, whips Otunga to the ropes and then knocks him down with a back elbow.
