LAS VEGAS (March 9, 2012) - Sixteen of the best unsigned fighters in the world took their first step towards glory Friday night as they won their first round tournament fights in the fast-paced premiere of The Ultimate Fighter Live on FX.
The 32 UFC hopefuls arrived at the famed TUF Gym in Las Vegas ready to fight their way into the final 16, but they were met with a stunning announcement: all first round elimination bouts would consist of a single five-minute round.
The result was some of the most intense, emotional and action-packed bouts in TUF history, including a startling eight-second KO.
In addition, fighters were offered a bonus of $5,000 if they succeeded in scoring a submission or knockout in their fight. A total of $40,000 was handed out.
With the win, the victors now move into The Ultimate Fighter Live House for the next 12 weeks as they continue to compete for a lucrative six-figure contract with the UFC.
"One round! That's all we needed tonight. These guys came out and killed it," said UFC President Dana White. "We have some real tough guys this season and they want it bad. I guess the extra incentive didn't hurt either."
Bitter rivals and TUF Live coaches Dominick Cruz - the reigning UFC bantamweight champion - Uriah Faber - the No1 contender - both liked what they saw Friday night.
Cruz said: "We got to see some great action from these guys. They came out and showed us that they wanted it and they wanted it bad. There's a lot of good fighters to choose from and I'm going to build the best team I can."

Fighter Thoughts:
Proctor: "I'm pumped. This is the best thing to ever happen to me, so I have no complaints.''
Marcello: "I feel great. I'm so happy for me, my family, my wife, my kids and the people of Brazil who I know were up and watching. I'm very proud to be here and get the opportunity to be in the house."
Sicilia: "I came in ready to fight. I trained hard. You saw my fight. I loaded up with the right hand. My life changed in eight seconds, so I am really excited to be here.''
Tickle: "I'm happy. That was my game plan, to stay in the pocket with him and punch. He was coming forward and I just stayed in the pocket and caught him.''
Ogle: "I was really excited to be in there. Just the canvas itself felt like no other canvas I had been on. This was a dream come true. It was surreal. I think knowing my Mom watched the fight back in England probably helped me.''
Pichel: "I feel great. I got my first submission so I feel good about that. He came out strong and was well prepared. It was a little nerve-racking but I started to relax and I did what I had to do.''
Cofer: "I probably could have been more active, and probably didn't display my best ability but I guess I controlled it and I won so I am ecstatic. I'm happy with the win and happy to be here.''
Saunders: "I'm happy with the win but disappointed I didn't finish. I thought I had the guillotine but he persevered and pulled through it. Still, though, I'm very happy.''
Vick: "I feel great about the win and I'm in the house. This is a dream come true. It's the first step.''
Chiesa: "It wasn't the way I wanted to win, I like to go there and bang, but I really wanted to secure my spot in the house so I just went out and put the pressure on and got him down."
Rio: "I wasn't trying to out-strike him. I was just trying to keep him at a distance because I knew he wanted to wrestle. Overall, I stuck to my game plan and waited for my opportunity. I did everything I needed to do to win this fight and get into the house.''
Lawrence: I just went in there and had the time of my life. That guy was the favorite and had a lot more fights than me, but stats and records go out the window when you only have five minutes to fight.''
Cruickshank: "I'm pretty excited. I worked very hard to get here. I'm ready to move on.''
Larsen: "The most important thing for me tonight was to win and to get in the house. I feel ok about my performance and I'm looking forward to getting this show started."
Iaquinta: "I worked really hard to get here and I'm happy and relieved to get the victory."
Jury: "I hadn't fought in over a year and I feel I fought one of the toughest guys here tonight. But I'm happy with the win. This is only the beginning.''

WrestleMania 29 & 30: Why None of Us Should Buy into These Reports
![]() |
Reported by Ernest I Aguilar Zevallos courtesy of Roger T.
he last week, many people have been talking about the possible locations for WrestleMania 29 in 2013 and WrestleMania 30 in 2014. The favorite for WrestleMania 29 was the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is just right outside Dallas. I expected WrestleMania 30 to be in New York because of the tradition is that has with the 10s such as 1, 10 and 20.
Over the last few days, I have read reports from several wrestling sites that WrestleMania 29 will be at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and possibly 30 at the Cowboys Stadium.
As much as I would like to see WrestleMania at the Cowboys Stadium, mostly because I live in the Dallas area, I don't think it should take away from the tradition of New York City.
Why you shouldn't buy into any of these reports
Biggest reason is because that there are too many of them. Reports say that it will be in the Cowboys Stadium. Now they're saying it won't be there. Now they're saying it will be at the MetLife Stadium.
How many reports will there be?
Several months ago, I attended the SmackDown taping here in Dallas and right before taping of the show, DX made an appearance for the thousands in attendance, not the millions watching at home. Triple H and Shawn Michaels began to talk about the "new stadium which can sit over 100,000" and the two had all of us cheer "WE WANT WRESTLEMANIA!"
Since it is only the middle of January and there is still a lot of time left before WrestlMmania 28, there is bound to be more speculation and possible locations for the event the following year.
That is why I'm not going to believe it until WWE makes it official
Cowboys Stadium is the perfect place for WrestleMania, despite the other events on around the same time. The stadium can bring in over 100,000 fans, the event has never been in Dallas and you know how much Vince likes big things. He likes big stadiums for the grandest stage of them all.
When will we know where WrestleMania will be held?
When WWE announces them—not when wrestling sites report them.
Thanks for reading.

Linda Bollea thinks Hogan sex tape could help her defamation lawsuit defense
![]() |
Reported by Ernest I Aguilar
Linda Bollea - the ex wife of Hulk Hogan - is looking for a way to get a preview of the alleged Hulk Hogan sex tape because it could help her defense case in a lawsuit that Hulk filed against her according to a story published by TMZ.
Hogan sued Linda for defamation right after her book was published. In the book, Linda claims that Hulk was abusive and also cheated on her, something that Hulk says are not true.
Now Linda feels that if she manages to get her hand on the tape and figure out a timeline of when it was done, it could help her case, confirming that Hulk actually cheated on her and his lawsuit would be without basis.
Hogan claims that the video was probably shot during a four month period from when he split with his wife and before he met his current wife Jennifer, making the video around five years old.

Hogan undergoes surgery to correct dental mishap

Reported by Earnest I Aguilar
Hogan walked back into a hospital this week to undergo another surgery after a CAT scan on his mouth revealed that one of the doctors who performed surgery on him left a metal tack in his mouth.
Speaking to celebrity website TMZ, the former WWE champion said that back in October of last year he went in for a dental surgery to get implants and when the dentist removed the mold from his mouth, he ripped out 50 stitches from a surgery he did before. He said he's been suffering from infections ever since and all the antibiotics didn't help at all.
"They had to drill a f**king hole in my face," Hogan said. Hogan is already back at home recovering.

Hulk Hogan's Xbox video game gets worst of the year award
![]() |
Reported by Ernest I Aguilar Zevallos
Hulk Hogan's video game for the Xbox console titled Hulk Hogan's Main Event was named by the Official Xbox Magazine as the worst video game of 2011.
In its review, the mag labeled the game atrocious for being the least interactive Kinect game released to date, for wasting a great idea, and for "taking up precious landfill space that could've been filled with something more pleasant, like hazardous waste." Ouch!
The shots didn't stop there however as the review says that even if this game was just $5 as an XBLA download, it would still have taken the title but at $50, "it's the financial equivalent of being smashed in the head with a steel chair."
The video game is not related to TNA at all.

Hogan says IMPACT will tape on the road starting in August
![]() |
Reported by Earnest I Aguilar
On his Twitter, Hulk Hogan claimed that IMPACT Wrestling tapings will be held on road every other taping starting in August of this year.
IMPACT currently tapes at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, and since the sound stage is part of Universal, fans who are in the park don't pay anything extra to see IMPACT, giving TNA zero money in revenue every week.
The company moved to Orlando when the deal with Spike kicked off in 2005. Since then, TNA held a few IMPACT tapings outside Orlando and were considered a success. Having tapings done outside Universal every other week at least gives TNA a new source of revenue.

Hulk Hogan planning to sue Ultimate Warrior over video

Hogan told TMZ that the allegation of drug use noted by the Warrior in the video is just a "blatant lie" and also defend himself when Warrior said that Hogan encouraged his then-wife Linda to have sex with wrestlers.
"None of that ever happened. This guy is out of his mind," Hogan said.

Reported Ernest I Aguilar Zevallos
Majesco Entertainment Company and TNA's Hulk Hogan announced a strategic partnership to develop Hulk Hogan's Main Event, a video game exclusively on Kinect for Xbox 360 for an expected release this fall.
Developed by Panic Button LLC, Hulk Hogan's Main Event is the first performance-based wrestling game on Kinect for Xbox 360 that lets players train with mentor Hulk Hogan as they build their own wrestling personalities and learn the art of showmanship to win over the crowd.
"Hulk Hogan is much more than a wrestling star; he's a sports entertainment icon with a huge personality, a massive following on Spike's IMPACT WRESTLING, and immediate recognition across generations of fans," said Jesse Sutton, CEO Majesco Entertainment.
"Partnering with the Hulkster for Hulk Hogan's Main Event is a dream come true and we're looking forward to releasing a no holds barred motion-based experience that offers a full suite of over-the-top moves."
In the game, players will learn the ropes from the man himself as Hulk Hogan schools them on delivering the best show for the crowd by emulating famous Hulk poses and performing more than 30 punishing combos. The Kinect sensor tracks players' every move; the more dynamic the motion, the more high impact the wrestler's performance is.
Players will create their own unique wrestler personality through a robust create-a-wrestler feature including many choices for face, hair, tattoos, outfit, ethnicity, body type, and entrance music. Perform in nine different venues including the backyard brawl, local gym and giant stadium in front of a massive audience. Enter tournament mode for two player tag-team and take turns delivering extreme moves. Best of all, players can wield a variety of damaging objects including metal chairs and ladders to deliver bone-jarring hits to their opponents.

Hulk Hogan talks about Randy Savage's death

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar
Hulk Hogan, one of Savage's long-time friend turned enemy and turned friend again, spoke about his death today on Twitter, saying he's "completely devastated" about it as after 10 years of not talking to him, they finally started to talk and communicate again.
"He had so much life in his eyes & in his spirit, I just pray that he's happy and in a better place and we miss him," wrote Hogan. "I feel horrible about the ten years of having no communication. This was a tough one."
Hogan and Savage were best of friends but eventually fought while in WWE and the shiner Hogan sported at WrestleMania IX was no accident, but rather Savage's fist. The two worked together again in WCW but had another fall-out later.
"I just pray that Randy's happy and in a better place and we miss him."

Hulk Hogan loses lawsuit against Wells Fargo USA
![]() |
Reported by Earnest I Aguilar Zevallos
The Tampa Bay Tribune newspaper is reporting that a Pinellas County circuit judge has dismissed a lawsuit that Hulk Hogan filed against his insurance company, Wells Fargo USA, following his son's accident claiming that the company provided inadequate coverage and because of that he had to use some of his own money in an out-of-court settlement with the guardian for passenger John Graziano.
Wells Fargo has covered Hogan for the past ten years with coverage for his homes, boats, watercraft and motor vehicles. Hogan claimed that the company failed to advise him to increase his insurance as his risk grew, especially as his children became teenagers who could drive, his lawsuit said. Hogan said the insurance company never gave him advice on excess.
In their arguments against Hogan, Wells Fargo said that his now ex-wife Linda handled insurance decisions and either she or her personal assistant repeatedly rejected offers to increase the insurance. The last time Wells Fargo offered a quote for more coverage was four days before the wreck that left Graziano with permanent brain damage, the insurance company's lawyers said in court documents.
On April 21 during a hearing, Circuit Judge Douglas Baird said he agreed with Wells Fargo and said Hogan's attorneys did not show Wells Fargo failed to live up to its responsibilities as an insurance company.
After dismissing the lawsuit, Hogan's legal team had a chance to file a new lawsuit but decided to take Wells Fargo up on a proposal to settle the matter with a nominal amount as if he lost again he stood to pay all of Wells Fargo's attorney fees and costs, which is significantly greater.

Hulk Hogan was released from the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, FL., yesterday after he was admitted on Sunday night suffering from severe back spasms.
Hogan was wheelchaired out of the hospital accompanied by the soon-to-be wife Jennifer.
In a video shot by TMZ, Hogan said that as soon as he goes home he's gonna get his fiance to shave his legs and then move up the wedding date and marry Jennifer "right away."
Hogan then explained again how the injury happened when he was picking up - believe it or not - seashells by the sea. He cracked a joke at female comedian Lisa Lampanelli saying he was bent over for so long when it happened, calling it the "Lisa Lampanelli position."
Lampanelli tore Hogan a new one during the David Hassehoff comedy roast, hence the joke.
"It will never happen again, I'm out of the seashell business," said Hogan.
