Hulk Hogan's Xbox video game gets worst of the year award

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar

Hulk Hogan's video game for the Xbox console titled Hulk Hogan's Main Event was named by the Official Xbox Magazine as the worst video game of 2011.

In its review, the mag labeled the game atrocious for being the least interactive Kinect game released to date, for wasting a great idea, and for "taking up precious landfill space that could've been filled with something more pleasant, like hazardous waste." Ouch!

The shots didn't stop there however as the review says that even if this game was just $5 as an XBLA download, it would still have taken the title but at $50, "it's the financial equivalent of being smashed in the head with a steel chair."

The video game is not related to TNA at all.

Tyson Tomko checks himself into WWE-sponsored rehab

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar

His attorney, James McCune, told the St. Augustine Record newspaper that he'll be heading to the WWE-sponsored rehab immediatley.

"He's very grateful for all the support he's received from his friends, family and fans around the world. Mr. Tomko realizes he is struggling with an addiction and with the support of his family and the WWE, he is voluntarily checking himself into an undisclosed treatment facility to receive the help he needs for a successful recovery."

Watch ESPN's E:60 documentary on Scott Hall

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar

ESPN produced a twenty minute documentary on Scott Hall which takes a shocking look at the former WWE and WCW Superstar and his drug and alcohol addictions.

Hall noted that both his parents and grand parents were alcoholic and it was only a matter of time before he followed. He recounted a story that while working at a strip club he point blank shot and killed a man after the two wrestled with their guns and was later charged with 2nd degree murder. The case was eventually dismissed because of insufficient evidence.

X-Pac, Hulk Hogan, his ex wife Dana, Eric Bischoff, his son Cody, Kevin Nash, Stephanie McMahon, Justin Credible and Top Rope Promotions' promoter were all interviewed for this excellent documentary which also revealed how his battle with cocaine, alcohol and pain killers led to his divorce in 1998 and landed him ten times to rehab.

It is quite a sad look at Hall who was very emotional throughout the piece and the effect he left on his family, now training and mentoring his son to follow in his wrestling footsteps, hopefully minus all the alcohol and drug abuse.

Hardy released from jail, sent back to rehab

Reported by Ernest Aguilar

Matt Hardy, who spent a couple of weeks in jail following his removal from the WWE-sponsored rehab walked out of jail yesterday when his $1 million bail was lowered down to $100,000.

The Judge cut him some slack and ordered the former tag team title holder to go straight back to rehab and if for some other reason he is either caught doing something illegally or gets thrown out again, he will be back behind bars and this time it will be a quarter of a million dollars bail.

The prosecution didn't like that Judge lowered his bail by $900,000 but the Judge didn't want to hear any of it as long as the troubled Superstar takes his butt back to rehab.

Matt Hardy back in jail after getting kicked out of rehab

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar

Matt Hardy is back in jail after he was kicked out of the WWE-sponsored rehab facility yesterday. According to TMZ, staff at the facility got suspicious when Hardy was acting weird and gave him a breathalyzer on the spot and the results confirmed their suspicions.

Hardy refused to accept the outcome and denied drinking any alcohol saying that he used a mouthwash and that was the reason the test got a positive result.

Hardy was sent to rehab on a court order instead of going to jail and as soon as he landed back home in Moore County, North Carolina, police officers arrested him and threw him in jail at 1:30AM for violating a court order.

Hardy's girlfriend, Reby Sky, was not thrilled about his arrest and took her frustration to Twitter. "As if today couldn't get any worse. Wow. Just ... heartbroken. I REALLY need to stop asking myself if it can get any worse. Somehow, it always does."

You can see his latest mug shot below.

Over 43,000 tickets sold for WrestleMania XXVIII

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar

In his latest blog updated, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has revealed that just over 43,000 tickets have been sold so far for WrestleMania XXVIII.

The event has already grossed over $6 million in gate money for the company, and set a record for first day ticket sales when tickets went on sale on November 11. The Sun Life Stadium however is one big stadium and holds over 75,000 seats in a football setup and one would imagine more would be available in a wrestling setup.

This year's WrestleMania at the Georgia Dome had 71,617 fans with $6.6 million in revenue and over 1 million pay-per-view buys.

Tickets for WrestleMania are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar

First day ticket sales for WrestleMania XXVIII resulted in a record gross of $6.3 million according to a press release issued by WWE today, destroying the previous first day record of $4.8 million for WrestleMania XXV.

There were no mentions of how many tickets have been sold yet but single seats in the $350 price section are still available. Ticketmaster.com is selling Official Platinum Seats ranging from $200 to $10,000 ringside. Yes, you read correct, that is $10,000.

"We are thrilled that WrestleMania XXVIII has already made WWE history in such dramatic fashion," said John Saboor, Senior Vice President of Special Events for WWE. "Coming off the momentum of last year's record breaking event in Atlanta, we fully anticipate that this year's WrestleMania in Miami will be our largest and most successful ever."

Shaquille O'Neal in talks for match at WrestleMania

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar

Wrestling and UFC fan and former NBA Superstar Shaquille O'Neal was a guest on the Abe Kanan show on Sirius XM and announced that he might be showing up at next year's WrestleMania.

Shaq mentioned that he is in talks with WWE to maybe participate in a match against the Big Show. The two had an altercation in 2009 when Shaq was guest hosting Monday Night RAW. On that day, he was the enforcer during a tag team match featuring Cryme Tyme vs Big Show and Jericho and after the match was over, Shaq shoulder blocked Show out of the ring.

This would not be the first time that Shaq appeared at a pay-per-view as he attended several WWE and WCW shows and even participated at a WCW pay-per-view.

If the match happens it would be Big Show's third match at a WrestleMania against a non-WWE performer. At WrestleMania 21, Show worked against Akebono in a sumo match and then at WrestleMania 24 he wrestled boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
