WWE issued a press release yesterday announcing that RAW and Smackdown! network premieres in Mexico had the highest audience for a television program in prime time on their respective stations from the 3rd to the 19th of October. Over 1.2 million fans tuned in to watch Smackdown! on its debut on October 3rd while RAW had just over one million viewers on its debut on October 4th. In Mexico, RAW airs on at 5:30PM while Smackdown! airs at 10PM. "We are ecstatic with the TV ratings for the debuts of WWE RAW and Friday Night SmackDown since we launched on open TV in Mexico," said Shane McMahon, Executive Vice President, Global Media for WWE. "I would like to thank our TV distribution partners, TV Azteca and Televisa. These partnerships allow WWE the maximum TV household penetration in Mexico. More importantly, I’d like to thank our fans in Mexico for consistently showing such enthusiasm and support for the WWE brand," he added.
