Last Man Standing Match: CM Punk vs. Randy Orton: These two have had a great rivalry, their match at Wrestlemania was one of the few bright spots of that show. This was a pretty brutal match and the crowd was split in the beginning cheering for both men. Punk brings out a kendo stick, repeatedly hitting Orton with it, even going after his shoulder that has been injured in the past. Punk sets up a chair in the corner but gets swung into it head first. Punk hits a nice high kick but he takes a nasty backdrop onto the barricade, but makes it back up before the 10 count. Orton hits an RKO on the announce table but it doesn't break. Punk counters Ortons punt into a modified GTS on the steel steps, but Orton gets back up. Orton hits a top rope RKO and Punk is down for the count and Orton wins. 9/10.
-Tables Match for the U.S. Title: Kofi Kingston vs. Sheamus (Champion): This is an added match and the crowd seemed dead. There were some nice spots like Kofi jumping onto the ropes to avoid going through a table. Kofi jumps off the top rope slamming Sheamus through a table to become the new U.S. champion. An ok but not great match, especially cause of the dead crowd. 5/10.
-Nice backstage promo by the newly turned heel R-Truth, good idea to do something different with him.
-Country Whipping Match: Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole & Jack Swagger: Cole comes out covered in bubble wrap (you read that right) to absorb the impact of the leather straps used in this match. This is exactly what you'd expect with Lawler and Swagger carrying most of the match though Ross gets in some nice shots on Cole and Swagger. Ross does get a measure of revenge on Cole though he does get rolled up by Cole for the win. 6/10 and that's being generous.
-Falls Count Anywhere Match: Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes: A vastly underated rivalry and this was a good match that went all over the arena, Rey hit a seated senton splash off the stage. The action even up the stands into the hallways where some of the crowd cheers them on and Rhodes hits a jumping kick off of a concession cart that got a nice "Holy S***" chant from the crowd. Rey hits a springboard dive from a concessions counter for a 2 count. Back in the ring Rey does a diving headbutt to Cody for 2. Rhodes has Rey up in the corner but Rey sprays some mist into Rhodes eyes, then hits the 619 and splash off the top rope for the win. 9/10.
-Layla confronts the divas and apologizes for ever hurting any of them, since this could be her last match coming up.
-Loser Leaves WWE Match: Michelle McCool vs. Layla: The 2 former Laycool members face off in what is easily the best women's match WWE has put in years. McCool is more vicious in the early going knocking Layla off the top rope and hitting a nice kick for 2. Layla fights back on the outside nailing McCool into the announce table, then hits a nice springboard dropkick for 2. McCool goes for a kick but misses jamming her knee into the barricade. Layla hits the Laid Out Diamond Dust off the top rope for the win. Layla hits a reverse neck stunner but McCool gets her foot on the bottom rope. McCool hits the Styles Clash I mean Faith Breaker and goes for the pin but Layla reverses it for the 3 count. Winner Layla, Michelle McCool is gone from WWE. 9/10. Michelle is crying in the ring, when Kharma's (TNA's Awesome Kong) music hits and she comes out staring down McCool and hits the Implant Buster laughing like a maniac then walks off. They show a shot of the divas looking on and they all look shocked.
-Backstage Ricardo Rodriguez is practicing announcing Alberto Del Rio as the World Champion, Del Rio doesn't like it and makes him do it again.
-Ladder Match for the vacant World Title: Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian: Its Del Rio's destiny vs. The Instant Classic's quest for his first world title (if you ignore his 2 title reigns during his 3 year run with TNA that is). This was a good ladder match that had plenty of uses of the ladders, but first there is some good wrestling by both Del Rio and Christian. Del Rio gets hotshotted into the the ladder in the corner that looked like it jacked up his elbow. Del Rio gets backdropped into the ring smashing his back into a ladder. Nice jumping kick by Del Rio around a ladder kicking Christian who falls down on the ladder jamming his side. Christian hits a spear and goes up the ladder but Del Rio pulls his legs through and traps Christian in the ladder. Del Rio jumps from the top rope and hits the ladder on the outside as Christian moves out of the way. Brodius Clay makes his way out to prevent Christian from getting the title, Clay gets knocked to the outside but Del Rio locks on the cross arm breaker while Christians arm in a ladder. Del Rio almost has the title when Edge comes out in a jeep distracting him, Christian knocks Del Rio to the outside, and grabs the title to become the new World Champion. 9/10. Christian and Edge celebrate the win in the ring.
-Lumberjack Match for the Tag Team Titles: Big Show & Kane (Champions) vs. Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson: The lumberjacks include Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Tyler Reks, The Usos, Primo, Evan Bourne, Yoshi Tatsu, Koslov, Santino Marella and some guys whom I have no clue who they are. This is a standard tag match, Big Show chops Barrett then Kane comes in with a low dropkick. Barrett to the outside, gets right back in and eats a sideslam. Kane gets nailed by some lumberjacks and Big Show knocks like 4 of them down. Zeke is in and uses massive clotheslines and forearms to wear down Kane. Show is tagged in and Zeke nails a very impressive slam on Show, Barrett tags himself in but eats a chokeslam and Big Show pins him for the win to retain the tag titles. 7/10. A post match brawl occurs between the lumberjacks and Slater and Gabriel both take stereo chokeslams.
-Triple Threat Cage Match for the WWE Championship: John Morrison vs. John Cena vs. The Miz (Champion): There's some double teaming on the Miz by Cena and Morrison, and later in the match they hit a double suplex on Miz from the top of the cage. Cena lock on the STFU on Miz who almost gets out the cage door before Cena pulls him back in. Morrison pulls off some impressive moves in this match, like a double jump spring kick and hitting Starship Pain from the top of the cage onto both Cena and Miz. Morrison goes for the cage door and R-Truth comes in and puts him back in the cage, then enters the cage beating up Morrision some, even hitting the axe kick on Cena before climbing over the top and leaving. Miz and Cena battle at the top of the cage and Cena hits a top rope AA and becomes the new WWE Champion.... again..... ugh. 9/10 for the match.
-Extreme Rules was a good show and is worth getting on DVD.
