Reported by Ernest I Aguilar Zeavllos Linda McMahon, the former WWE Chief Executive Officer, announced her second bid for U.S. Senate earlier today at the Coil Pro Machinery, manufacturer and designer of custom-built coil processing machines, in Southington, CT in Hartford County. "As your senator, I will go to Washington with one objective: to get our state and country working again," said McMahon during a brief speech. McMahon spent $50 million of her own money in her first failed bid, losing by 11% to Democrat Richard Blumenthal. McMahon - and three other from her own Republican party - will be fighting for the party's endorsement in a battle for the seat that is currently occupied by Senator Joe Lieberman. According to various reports published last week, McMahon will be accepting donations this time around rather than self-funding the campaign to avoid any criticism that she's trying to "buy" her seat. |
