Smackdown Report TV 10/21/11

The Smack is being laid down for us tonight in Mexico City. The show opens with Alberto Del Rio walking to the ring to talk about his last man standing match with John Cena at Vengeance. Del Rio is in street clothes and claims to be hurt. Teddy Long comes out to interrupt and informs Alberto that the doctors have cleared him to compete, so tonight he's going to have to go ahead with his match against the Big Show.

Match #1: Mark Henry versus John Morrison.

The match begins with Mark Henry throwing John Morrison to the floor. Henry goes out after Morrison and pushes his head against the steel post, chokes him, and slams him down onto the edge of the ring apron. Henry rolls Morrison into the ring and continues the assault. Morrison tries to fight back but is knocked back down by an elbow from Mark Henry.

Henry charges Morrison, but Morrison gets his feet up and knocks Henry backwards. Morrison hits a flying kick to the back of Mark Henry and then knocks Henry down with a flying chuck. Morrison goes to the top rope and hits Starship Pain! Morrison goes for the cover but gets only 2. Morrison lands a punch and goes for a backslide, but Henry catches him and hits the World's Strongest Slam for the win.

In the back, Vickie Guerrero is trying to recruit Christian. Christian and Vicky are interrupted by Teddy Long. Christian tells Teddy he wants to have one more match and the people want him to have one more match.

So Teddy gives him one more match, against Sheamus. Teddy also tells Vicky that her client Dolph Ziggler will be defending his US title the same night he has to defend his tag team title with Jack Swagger. Vicky and Christian are both unhappy with Teddy.

Match #2: Wade Barrett versus Daniel Bryan.

The two men lockup and Bryan gets behind Barrett first. Bryan and Barrett exchange kicks and Bryan goes for the Lebell lock early. Barrett blocks the hold and knocks Bryan to the mat. Barrett hits Bryan with a knee to the back and then chokes him on the ropes. Wade hits Bryan with a running boot that knocks Bryan to the floor. Barrett pursues Bryan, slams him into the edge of the ring apron and then rolls him back into the ring. Barrett puts Bryan in a chin lock and Bryan fights out.

The two men exchange kicks with Bryan getting the better of it. Bryan goes to the top rope and hits Barrett with a missile dropkick. Bryan goes for a cover but Wade kicks out. Wade hits Daniel with a big boot and then mounts and pounds him. Barrett puts Bryan in a bow and arrow, but Bryan escapes and lands a kick.

Wade gets to his feet; Bryan runs up the ropes and over Barrett before knocking him down with a running dropkick. Barrett responds with a kick and a pump handle slam. Barrett beats Bryan down in the corner. Bryan tries going back to the top rope, but Wade catches him and hits him with Wasteland for the win.

Match #3: Sheamus and Zack Ryder versus Christian and Dolph Ziggler.

Dolph and Zack start things off and Dolph beats Zack down before making the quick tag to Christian. Christian knocks Ryder down but Zack rolls Christian up for a near fall. Zack lands a few strikes to Christian, and Dolph gets in a cheap shot as well. Christian tags in Dolph and Dolph lands a couple punches and a neckbreaker. Zack fights back with a pair of punches but is knocked back down with a sweet looking standing dropkick from Dolph.

Dolph goes for another neckbreaker but this time Zack blocks it. Dolph tags in Christian and Christian lands a couple strikes and then stomps on Ryder in the corner. Zack fights back and knocks Christian down before tagging in Sheamus. Sheamus knocks Dolph down, hits him with a front slam and then a backbreaker. Christian distracts Sheamus momentarily and Dolph hits Sheamus from behind. Sheamus turns around and hits Dolph with a Brogue kick for the win.

Commercial

When we return, we are shown footage of Christian spearing Sheamus on the entrance ramp during the break.

Cody Rhodes is in the ring and he's talking about Randy Orton. Rhodes claims that he's glad he cost Randy Orton the title because of the abuse he suffered at the hands of Orton when they were both in Legacy. Rhodes also claims that Orton deserves this because he hit Rhodes in the head with a ring bell and gave him 9 stitches recently, possibly scarring him for life.

Rhodes retaliated by knocking Orton out and placing a paper bag over his head. Rhodes calls Orton out and wants Randy to admit that he was wrong about Cody, and to apologize to him. Orton comes out to tell Cody that this changes nothing except how badly he is going to torture Cody on Sunday. Orton and Rhodes start to brawl, but every time Orton gets the edge, one of Cody's baggers come to help Rhodes by distracting Orton. Orton eventually takes out one bagger with an RKO and the other with a rope hung DDT.

Match#4: Sin Cara Negro versus Sin Cara Azule in a mask versus mask match.

Sin Cara Negro gets the early advantage and lands several strikes. Azule tries to hit a back elbow but misses. Azule follows up with a hurricanrana that sends Negro to the floor. Azule hits Negro with a flying crossbody and then rolls him into the ring and goes for a cover; getting a two count. Azule hits a tilt a whirl hurricanrana and follows up with a few kicks.

Azule goes for a springboard maneuver, but is hit in mid air by a drop kick from Negro. Negro tries to pull off Azule's mask and is back body dropped to the floor by Sin Cara Azule.

Commercial

When we return, Sin Cara Negro hits Sin Cara Azule with a backbreaker. Azule fights back with several punches to the gut and a hurricanrana. Negro responds with a leg lariat and then a leg lock that he transitions into a Steiner Recliner. Negro stomps on Azule, hits him with a backbreaker and then a pump handle back breaker.

Azule goes for a dropkick but Negro avoids it and goes after Azule's mask again. Negro beats Azule down in the corner, steps out onto the edge of the ring apron and slingshots himself into position to dropkick Azule in the chest. Azule retaliates with several kicks and then runs up the ropes and arm drags Negro. Azule takes Negro over with a headscissors take down and wraps up his legs for a pin but gets only 2.

Negro responds with a punch, a kick, and a Samoan drop. Negro goes to the top and Azule hits him with a flying kick to the head and then follows up with a Frankensteiner. Azule hits Negro with a senton and goes for a pin, but Negro kicks out and lands a couple punches. Azule hits a tilt a whirl headscissors transitioned into a single arm DDT, floated over into a Fujiwara armbar for the win!

After the match, Negro refuses to pull off his mask and starts to leave. Sin Cara Azule stops him, Negro attacks Azule, and then Azule pulls Negro's mask off. Sin Cara Negro has been unmasked! Negro falls to the floor and is hit by a suicide dive from Sin Cara Azule.

When we return, Beth Phoenix and Natalya are in the ring explaining that they are not jealous of Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres, because they are just Barbie Dolls. They especially love making Barbie Dolls cry with their new submission hold: "Pin Up Strong."

Eve comes out to object to being called a Barbie Doll, and to say that she's going to beat Beth for the women's title. Beth and Natalya mock Even and ask if she's going to cry to. Eve responds by shoving Beth across the ring and then leaving before they could double team her.

Match #5: Alberto Del Rio versus the Big Show.

The match starts with Big Show getting the early advantage. Show throws Alberto across the ring, shoves him into the corner, chops him and bodyslams him. Big Show pushes Alberto down onto the ropes and then hits him with a series of punches to the gut. Alberto grabs Big Shows head and snaps it down across the top rope. Alberto climbs to the top rope and flies off, but Big Show hits him in mid air and sends him crashing to the canvas.

When we return, Alberto is hitting Show with a series of kicks. Big Show catches the last kick in his hands and shoves Alberto to the mat. Big Show pushes Alberto over the top rope to the floor and then goes out after him. Alberto drop kicks the steel steps into Big Shows legs. Big Show hits Alberto with a couple chops and then rolls him back into the ring.

Show hits Alberto with a body slam and then whips him to the corner. Big Show charges Alberto but Alberto dodges the attack. Big Show clotheslines Alberto and then puts him in a submission hold that looked a little like a cobra clutch. Big Show hits Alberto with a leg drop and goes for a cover but gets only 2. Big Show pushes Alberto into the ropes and Alberto responds with a dropkick to the leg that drops Big Show to one knee.

Alberto follows up with a series of kicks and Big Show goes down. Alberto grabs Big Shows arm and hits him with a double knee armbreaker. Big Show swats Alberto and knocks him to the canvas. Big Show hits Alberto with a big chop to the chest and then whips him to the ropes. Show hits Alberto with a clothesline, a corner splash, a shoulder block and then sets up for a choke slam.

Show grabs Alberto, but Del Rio floats out of the choke slam attempt. Alberto knocks Big Show down with a chop block and then applies the cross armbreaker. Big Show is caught in the hold for a while, but is able to power his way up to his feet and then slam Del Rio hard to the mat Big Show appears to be favoring his arm, but manages to grab Del Rio for a choke slam anyway.

Ricardo Rodriguez jumps on Big Shows back to prevent Del Rio from getting choke slammed, causing Big Show to win by DQ. Show throws Ricardo off and then knocks him out with one punch. Alberto gets up and Big Show knocks him out with one punch.

After the match, Mark Henry comes to the ring to attack the Big Show, and Show knocks the heavyweight champion Mark Henry out with one punch. If that one right hand is SO devastating, why doesn't he just throw right hands at people's heads ALL the time? Big Show walks to the back looking happy while his enemies slowly struggle to regain consciousness as SmackDown goes off the air.
