Reported by Earnest I Aguilar Zevallos The Smack is being laid Down for us tonight in Houston Texas. The show begins with a recap of the ring collapsing during the recent title match between Mark Henry and the Big Show. Teddy Long is in the middle of the ring and assures us the title picture will be addressed later tonight. Teddy is interrupted by Christian, who, obviously, wants one more match for the WWE Championship. Christian acknowledges that the match between Big Show and Mark Henry was historic; as in "it's history." As far as Christian is concerned, Big Show had his shot and didn't get the job done, so Christian thinks he should get the next shot, because he has dominated SmackDown for the last 5 months. Teddy reminds Christian that he just lost to Sheamus this past Sunday. Christian still thinks he deserves another title shot, but is interrupted by Raw's CM Punk! Christian wants to know why Punk is here, and Teddy explains that since SmackDown superstars have been appearing on Raw lately as part of the Raw "Supershow" Teddy has arranged for some Raw stars to appear on SmackDown's "Supershow." Punk finally gets his chance to speak and says he's glad to be on a show with competent leadership, taking a shot at John Laurinaitis on Raw. He says John makes Teddy look like FDR, and then says that's not exactly a compliment. Christian thinks Punk is a joke, and reminds everyone that he hijacked the WWE and left with the World title. Punk replies that he's a fan of Christian's wrestling, he's just sick of hearing him bitching every time he opens his mouth. Every time Christian opens his mouth Punk repeats the word "bitching." Christian then says that as the leader of SmackDown, he's telling Punk to leave, because no one wants him here. Punk seems to accept this and sadly agrees that no one wants him here, so he might as well just leave. The crowd chants CM PUNK loudly and CM Punk stops and says "Oh wait, I think over 10,000 people here in Houston want me here, and I bet they want to see me in a match with you here tonight." Teddy Long agrees and makes the match for the main event later tonight. Commercial Match #1: Miz and R Truth versus Air Boom (Kofi Kingston and Evan "air" Bourne). Miz and Kofi start things off and Miz gets the early advantage with a series of punches, kicks, and knees. Miz tags in Truth and Truth beats Kofi down badly, eventually knocking him down in the corner with a big punch. Truth leaps at Kofi in the corner but Kofi gets his feet up and knocks Truth down. Kofi tags in Evan Bourne and they double team Truth. Evan goes for a cover but Truth kicks out at 2. Evan hits Truth with a hurricanrana, a drop kick, and a kick to the head that knocks him down. Evan goes to the top rope but is distracted by Miz, and then knocked to the floor by Truth who then pursues. Commercial When we return, the Miz is in control of Evan and drags him to the corner so he can tag in Truth. Truth puts Evan in a front face lock. Evan nearly breaks free but Truth grabs him by the leg and pulls him back. Evan lands a kick to the head and tags in Kofi; Truth tags in Miz. Kofi lands a pair of chops, a dropkick, and a clothesline to the Miz. Kofi tries to hit the Boom Drop but Miz rolls out of the ring to the floor. Miz re enters the ring and Kofi hits him with a high flying crossbody for a 2 count. Miz tags in R Truth and they hit Kofi with the "Little Jimmy's Finale": a leaping reverse STO (R Truth's finisher) and a full nelson facebuster (Skull Crushing Finale-the Miz' finisher) done in combination for the win. After the match, Truth and Miz tell the crowd they shouldn't boo them ,they should boo themselves. They boast about all the people they have beaten lately, including John Cena. Cena recently picked the Rock to be his tag team partner against Miz and Truth at Survivor Series, and Miz and Truth promise that if the Rock and Cena don't kill each other before the match even starts, then they'll finish the job. Commercial When we return, some of the SmackDown superstars are watching the new Shawn Michaels' and Bret Hart DVD. Daniel Bryan is talking about training with Shawn Michaels when Tyson Kidd interrupts to say he was trained at the Hart family dungeon. Tyson insists Brett was the better wrestler, and Bryan insists HBK was. Santino Marella tells them should settle their argument with a match, and they both agree. In the back, Hornswoggle is dressed up like Zach Ryder and is doing a "fist bump." Apparently Hornswoggle is filling in for Zach after the beating Zach received from Miz and Truth last week. Vickie Guerrero and her clients, US Champ Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger enter Teddy's office. Dolph tells Teddy that even though Teddy tried to screw him by making him wrestle in 2 title matches at Vengeance, he's still the US champ. Teddy says he wasn't trying to screw Dolph at Vengeance, just like he's not screwing him now by making him wrestle Randy Orton later tonight. Jack Swagger tells Dolph to relax, they can handle this, but Teddy tells him he can't handle anything because he's banned from ringside. Vickie is outraged and Hornswoggle is mimicking Zach Ryder's "woo woo woo". Teddy is again interrupted, this time by Aksana. Aksana and Teddy walk off to Teddy's office to "talk." Commercial Match #2: Wade Barrett versus Trent Beretta. Wade starts things off with a kick and an elbow to the back of the head. Beretta responds with a baseball slide and a hurricanrana. Wade hits Trent with a side slam and gets a 2 count. Wade puts Trent in a bow and arrow and Trent fights his way out and retaliates with an elbow. Wade hits Trent with a knee then several more knees to the head while Trent is tied up in the ropes, and then knocks him off the ring apron and onto the floor with a big boot to the head. After knocking him down outside the ring, Wade rolls Trent back in and covers him for 2. Trent tries to fight back and the two men exchange strikes. Trent eventually tries to roll Barrett up, but Wade reverses it, gets Trent up on his shoulders and then hits him with Wasteland for the win. Commercial Match #3: Randy Orton versus Dolph Ziggler. Before the match, Cody Rhodes and his baggers come out and walk to the announce table. Orton and Ziggler lock up and struggle for position and then separate. They circle each other, lock up again, and Orton puts Dolph in a headlock. Orton then hits Ziggler with a shoulder block and locks him up with a chin lock. Dolph gets to his feet and twists Orton's arm behind his back. Orton escapes and whips Ziggler to the ropes. Both men come off the ropes fast, Orton leapfrogs Ziggler and then Ziggler leaps over Orton. Dolph puts Orton in a headlock and Orton escapes by whipping Ziggler to the ropes. Orton knocks Dolph down with a pair of shoulder blocks. Dolph lands a series of strikes and then takes Orton down with a headlock. The two men exchange holds and near falls on the mat. Orton stomps Dolph's chest twice, hits him with a running knee, and then covers him for a 2 count. Randy whips Dolph to the corner and then charges, only to be hit by Dolph with a kick. Dolph locks up Orton's arm and chin and takes him to the mat. Orton fights his way out and Dolph rolls out to the floor and runs away from Orton. Orton pursues and Vickie gets in the way; so Orton leaps right over her. Vickie sounds horrified but he never touched her. Commercial When we return, Orton whips Ziggler to the corner. Ziggler responds with a European uppercut and a standing dropkick. Dolph repeatedly stomps Orton in the corner. Orton tries to fight back, but Dolph knocks Orton face down to the mat and puts him in a crucifix position. Randy fights his way to his feet and gets Dolph up onto his shoulders, but Dolph reverses it and hits Orton with a DDT. Dolph pulls back on Orton's chin, but Orton gets to his feet and hits Dolph with a headbutt. Dolph responds with a neckbreaker and then climbs to the top rope. Orton trips Ziggler up and then superplexes him for a near fall. The two men get to their feet and exchange several big punches. Dolph appears to get the advantage until Orton lands a kick. Dolph responds with a European uppercut and an Irish Whip. Randy hits Dolph with a kick and a pair of clotheslines and then a scoop slam. Randy slides Ziggler into the ropes and then hits him with a rope hung DDT. Orton sets up for the RKO but Ziggler counters with a superkick. Dolph goes for a cover and gets 2. Dolph leaps onto Orton's back, presumably in an attempt to hit the Zig Zag or lock in a sleeper hold, but Orton counters with an RKO for the win! After the match, Cody Rhodes stares at Orton and holds up one of the bags he gives to all the ugly fans. Does Cody think Randy Orton is ugly? Randy looks confused; so am I. We're shown a recap of the unmasking of Sin Cara Negro this past Sunday at Vengeance. Matt Striker asks the unmasked Sin Cara negro how he feels, and he replies "how do you think I feel?" Sin Cara negro talks about his identity being taken away from him, and promises payback. Commercial Match #4: Daniel Bryan versus Tyson Kidd. Both men exchange big pushes and go behind attempts as the match gets underway. Bryan takes Kidd down with an armdrag, and then takes him down again by grabbing the leg. Tyson lands a kick and then a running dropkick. Tyson gets Bryan down with an inverted headlock; Bryan responds with an Irish whip, a clothesline, and then a running dropkick. Bryan hits Tyson with a Frankensteiner for a 2 count. Bryan tries to apply the Lebell lock but Tyson escapes and tries to roll Bryan up. The two men exchange pin attempts and Tyson tries for a Sharpshooter, but Bryan counters with the Lebell lock and Tyson taps out. Michael Cole stands on the announce table and announces that he'll quit if JR beats him. He said a lot of other crap to, I just don't care. It would be nice if he quit though. Even if it's just a storyline quitting and he's only gone for a few weeks, that would be a nice little break from the boring painful crap he has been forcing on us for far too long now. Commercial When we return, the Big Show is in the ring, and he's quoting Britney Spears. Seriously! He said "Oops, I did it again!" which is the name of a famous song by Britney Spears. (Don't judge me for knowing that) He's referring to the fact that, for the second time, someone superplexed him off the top rope and the ring collapsed. (The first time was against Brock Lesnar) Big Show says he's in a lot of pain after his match with Mark Henry. He also says that even though Mark Henry was a monster last Sunday, he knows he can beat him. Mark Henry comes out to tell Big Show that while he is in pain because the ring collapsed, the Big Show is in pain because of the beating he gave him. Show wants another match, but Henry tells him that he walked into Vengeance as champ, and he walked out of Vengeance as champ; and since Big Show couldn't get it done, he doesn't deserve another shot. Big Show challenges him to come to the ring and fight him right now. Henry starts to walk towards the ring, and then walks away with belt in hand. Commercial Match #5: CM Punk versus Christian. Punk gets Christian in hammerlock, and Christian whips Punk to the ropes. Christian knocks Punk down with a shoulder block then slaps his chest triumphantly as the crowd boos. Punk gets back to his feet and they lock up again. Punk knocks Christian down and flexes as the crowd cheers. The two men exchange strikes and Punk knocks Christian down with a leg lariat. Punk grabs Christian's arm and yanks him in for several short arm shoulder blocks. Punk whips Christian to the corner and then slams him to the mat. Punk wraps Christian's arm and chin up in a submission hold. Christian elbows his way out and hits Punk with a boot to the face. Christian goes to the top rope and hits Punk with a flying back elbow. Christian goes to the top again and goes for a frog splash but Punk rolls out of the way. Punk gets Christian in position for the Go to Sleep (A fireman's carry dropped into a knee strike to the face, abbreviated GTS) but is distracted by Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez. Christian takes advantage and hits Punk with a superplex. Commercial When we return, Christian has Punk in a submission hold, but Punk fights his way out. Christian kicks Punk back down, stomps him, and then mounts and pounds him. Christian hits Punk with an inverted DDT and gets a 2 count. Christian rakes the face of Punk as Del Rio watches from ringside. Christian slams Punk into the announce table outside the ring as Del Rio watches, and then rolls Punk back in. Christian tries to tie up Punk's arm and chin in another submission hold but Punk frees himself and lands a slap to the face, a spinning back fist, and then a kick to the head. Punk takes Christian over with a high backdrop and gets a near fall. Punk goes for a running knee and Christian tries to retaliate with the Kill Switch, but Punk blocks it. Punk goes for the GTS but Christian nails him with a couple kicks to the head and gets a near fall. Christian jumps out of the ring to the floor and punches up at a prone CM Punk. Christian climbs to the top rope and goes for a cross body, but Punk rolls through it and gets a 2 count. Punk goes to the top rope and flies off, but Christian catches and scoop slams him. Christian and Punk both go for their finishing moves (GTS and Kill Switch) but neither hits it. Punk hits Christian with a running high knee, but is distracted by Ricardo Rodriguez before he can follow up. Christian charges art Punk, but Punk hits him with a shoulder block through the ropes. Punk hits Christian with a springboard clothesline for a 2 count. Punk goes back to the top rope while Ricardo Rodriguez distracts the referee. Del Rio trips Punk off the top rope and Punk falls the mat. Christian sets up to hit Punk with a spear, but is distracted by Sheamus, who has come running to the ring. CM Punk takes advantage of the distraction and hits Christian with the GTS for the win. SmackDown comes to a close with Sheamus celebrating outside the ring and Punk celebrating inside the ring. |
