Smackdown TV Report 11/11/11

Reported by Ernest I Aguilar

The Smack is being laid Down for us tonight in Liverpool England. The show opens with a tribute to the Veterans in honor of Veterans Day (Remembrance Day here in Canada). After a brief recap of Randy Orton's match last week with Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton makes his way to the ring.

Randy tells us that Teddy Long has asked him to Captain a team at Survivor Series. Randy told Teddy that he doesn't play well with others and has done something horrible to ruin every team he's ever been on. But Randy also tells us that while he's never been a leader, he's damn sure not a follower, so he agreed to Captain a team at Survivor Series.

Randy tells us he has no problem beating up anyone from the other team, when he is suddenly interrupted by Wade Barrett, the Captain of the other SmackDown team. Wade tells us Randy does have a big problem with Wade Barrett, because Wade is a natural born leader, whereas Randy is a predator that no one would ever trust.

Wade says his winning streak, the "Barrett Barrage" will continue at Survivor Series and beyond until Barrett becomes Champion. Wade asks Randy if he's paying attention, and Randy says that he was not, and was instead imagining Wade's head bouncing off the canvas after an RKO.

Christian then interrupts Orton and declares that Randy will be the Yoko Ono of his team. Christian claims that he would have been the captain of his Survivor Series team, but agreed to step aside and let Barrett lead because of Christian's injuries. Christian is wearing a neck brace that he claims he needs after being choke slammed by the Big Show last week.

Christian claims he and Barrett are both natural leaders and that everyone on their team is equal. Randy cuts Christian off and attacks him. Wade and Christian double team Orton until Sheamus comes to the rescue. Sheamus and Orton throw Christian and Barrett out of the ring. Teddy Long comes out and says he can see Christian's neck is fine, so tonight he will have to wrestle Sheamus. Teddy also announces that the main event tonight will be Wade Barrett versus Randy Orton.

When we return, Daniel Bryan is in the back talking to AJ and Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn and AJ are surprised that Daniel Bryan almost cashed in his Money in the Bank contract last week, but Bryan explains that he was disoriented at the time. They both seem to like Bryan and wished he had become champion last week.

Mark Henry interrupts their conversation and asks Bryan if he thinks it's that easy to become champ, you just cash in a contract? Henry reminds Bryan that it took him 15 years to win his first World Title. Bryan responds that he earned his contract by winning the Money in the Bank ladder match, and that if he Henry is still champ at WrestleMania, he will beat him.

Henry says he admires Bryan's guts; and then promises to spill his guts all over the ring. That would definitely jeopardize their PG rating.

In the back, Teddy Long and Aksana are talking about Aksana's first time. Aksana and Teddy both agree that her first time should be special, so Teddy doesn't want her to compete tonight. (the 'first time' I was referring to was her first match. I think the other thing you were thinking of probably happened a long time ago.)

Instead, Teddy wants her to watch someone with more experience first. So Teddy has arranged for Aksana to be in Alicia Fox's corner for her match tonight with Tamina. Aksana mistakenly believes Alicia is the singer Rihanna and starts singing that awful umbrella song.

Henry throws Bryan backwards over his head and then hits him with a pair of headbutts. Henry lands another punch and a kick before dragging Bryan to the middle of the ring. Henry hits Bryan with a big splash and goes for a cover, but pulls Bryan back up before the ref can count to three. Bryan waves Henry on, asking for more, and Henry hits him with the World's Strongest Slam for the win.

After the match, Henry brings a chair into the ring. Bryan kicks the chair out of Mark Henry's hands and hits him with it. Henry seems more angry than hurt and he hits Bryan with another World's Strongest Slam and another big splash. Henry grabs the chair again and puts Bryan's leg in it.

Before Henry can break Bryan's leg, the Big Show comes to the rescue. Henry is able to keep Big Show out of the ring with the chair, and then Henry hits Bryan with the chair. Big Show climbs to the edge of the ring apron and Henry attacks him with the chair. Big Show punches the chair out of Henry's hands and Henry backs out of the ring.

Henry left his title in the ring and the Big Show picks it up before throwing it back to Henry. Big Show tells Henry there's nothing impressive about beating up someone half your size; if Henry wants to see something impressive, he should watch Big Show's next match.

Match #4: Big Show versus 3 jobbers from Liverpool.

Predictable squash. The three jobbers gain early advantage and get the Big Show down to one knee. The Big Show quickly turns things around and chops them all down. Big Show also lands a couple headbutts and then choke slams 2 of the jobbers at the same time. The 3rd jobber decided to run away, but the Big Show chases him down.

Somehow, this fit young man was unable to out run the Big Show. Really? I would be willing to bet that a 70 year old crippled midget could outrun the Big Show while running backwards. I'm starting to think some of this stuff might be fake.

After the match, Henry says he was not impressed. Henry says the Big Show should have been impressed last week when Henry hit him with the World's Strongest Slam. He also thinks the Big Show should have been impressed when he put him out of action for 4 months. At Survivor Series, Henry promises to make a lasting impression on the Big Show.

In the back, Matt Striker is asking Sheamus about his temper. Sheamus responds that he has no temper; he's really just a nice guy that likes hanging out with his Muppet cousin, Beaker. Striker plays some footage of Sheamus assaulting Wade Barrett and Christian in the back stage area and points out that when someone crosses him, Sheamus has a mean streak. Sheamus stares angrily and intensely at Striker for a long time, and then smiles and says "let's just say I'm spirited."

Hunico lands several punches and then slams Jimmy into the corner. Hunico and Epico land double team Jimmy in the corner and Hunico tags in Epico. Epico lands a leaping kick to Jimmy, but Jimmy is able to backdrop Epico and tag in Jey. Jey hits Epico with a corkscrew forearm and then the running ass to the face. (Ass to face is OK, as long as it's not ass to mouth)

Primo hits Jey with a cheap shot that the ref never saw. Hunico capitalizes on the distraction and hits Jey with a suplex and then finishes him off with a senton bomb for the win.

Commercial

Match #7: Randy Orton versus Wade Barrett.

The two men lock up in the center of the ring and Orton eventually pushes Barrett to the corner and breaks cleanly. They lock up again; this time Barrett pushes Orton to the corner, but delivers a kick instead of a clean break. Barrett then puts Orton in a headlock and takes him down to the mat. Orton goes for the RKO, but Barrett blocks it by pushing Randy into the ref. Barrett takes advantage of the ref's distraction and hits Orton with a vicious thumb to the eye. Barrett wraps Orton up for the win! Wade Barrett walks away triumphantly and Randy Orton clutches his eye as SmackDown comes to a close.
