The Smack is being laid Down for us tonight in color commentator Booker T's hometown of Houston Texas. Edge comes out to the ring first to announce that he is going to fight Alberto Del Rio tonight, and he's not giving him any choice in the matter. If he doesn't come out to face him, Edge promises to find him and fight him wherever he is.
Alberto comes out with Brodus Clay and asks Edge if he knows who he is. Edge replies that Alberto is a Ricky Martin look alike trying to reform Manudo with Brodus. Alberto replies that he is the man that hurts Edge every week and is going to replace Edge's legacy with Alberto's destiny.
Edge attacks Alberto and Brodus at the same time, but is flattened by Clay. Christian comes out to help Edge and he gets flattened to. Teddy Long comes out and announces that he's going to make history tonight by putting Edge and Christian, one of the greatest tag teams of all time, in a match tonight for the first time in many years against Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay.
Michael Cole announces that he will be conducting the interview of the year later tonight with John Cena.

Match: Kane versus Wade Barrett.
Wade tells Kane he made 2 big mistakes recently: first, he failed to appreciate everything the Corre has done for him, and second, he dared to put his hands on Corre member Justin Gabriel. Wade calls him a great big chemical experiment mistake.
The match begins with Wade and Kane exchanging several strikes. When Kane gets the upper hand, the Corre comes out and beats down Kane. Eventually the Big Show comes to Kane's rescue and chases the Corre out of the ring.

When we return, it appears Big Show and Kane have been put in a tag match against Wade Barrett and Heath Slater. Big Show and Slater are the first two out and Big Show dominates Slater. Slater tags in Wade Barrett and Barrett also gets dominated by Big Show. After getting hit with a clothesline and several punches and chops, Barrett is finally able to turn things around by clipping the back of Big Show's knee.
Barrett follows up with a boot to the face and starts to pummel Big Show before tagging in Heath Slater. Slater pounds on the Big Show and goes for a cover, but the Big Show kicks out at zero. Heath puts a rear chin lock on the Big Show, but Show drops backwards slamming Slater to the mat.
Big Show tags Kane and Kane hits a clothesline on Slater from the top rope. Kane hits Slater with a clothesline and a side slam, then knocks Wade Barrett off the ring apron. The rest of the Corre comes to the ring to attack Kane. Big Show eventually comes back into the ring with a chair and hits Ezekiel Jackson with it and then throws the chair at Wade Barrett.
When Barrett catches the chair, Big Show punches it into his face. The Corre retreats and Kane and Big Show stand in the ring until the Big Show takes out Kane with the chair.

We're shown a recap of Michael Cole announcing JBL as his special guest referee for his Wrestlemania match with Jerry Lawler. Austin comes out and stuns JBL and signs the contract, making him the special guest referee. Cole is almost in tears asking why, and Austin pours a couple beers over his head.
I think it's silly that when Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler meet each other at WrestleMania, the best performer in that match, by far and in every way, will be the referee.

When we return Cody Rhodes is walking to the ring in a suit and a nose guard trying to hide his face.
Match: Cody versus JTG.
Cody takes of his suit jacket and beats JTG down as soon as the bell sounds. JTG fights back for a while, but Rhodes head butts him with the nose guard and then hits him with the CrossRhodes for the win. Cody walks back to the locker room trying to conceal his hideously deformed face (which of course isn't deformed at all) from the crowd.

When we return, Michael Cole is getting ready to interview John Cena. Cole asks Cena about the beating he received at the hands of the Miz last week, and then shows footage of Miz hitting Cena with a People's five knuckle shuffle.
Cena grabs the mic from Cole and tells him to crawl back into whatever hole he was puked out of. Cena addresses the Miz and says he made the biggest miztake of his career by attacking him. Cena said that like everyone else he was focused on the war of words with the Rock, but now he's focused on the Miz, who calls himself "the most must see champion" and the "face of the WWE".
Cena tells us that now his only goal is to break the "face of the WWE" at WrestleMania. Michael Cole interrupts and tells Cena he is not done conducting his interview. Cole asks Cena if he's underestimating the Miz, or is he's secretly afraid of the Miz.
Cole starts to berate Cena, and Cena finally has enough and picks up Cole to hit him with an "attitude adjustment." Jack Swagger comes out to save Cole and manages to get Cena in an ankle lock. Cena gets out of the hold, but Swagger stomps on him and reapplies it as Cole urges Swagger to punish Cena.
Cena pushes Swagger off again and sets Cole up for an attitude adjustment but Cole is saved by Swagger. Cena gives Swagger an attitude adjustment instead.

When we return, we are shown a video package highlighting the debut of Sin Cara, formerly known as Mistico in CMLL.
Match: Layla versus Kaitlyn.
Layla comes out first with her BFF and LayCool partner Michelle McCool. Kaitlyn has the early advantage and hits Layla with some strikes before being distracted by Michelle. Kaitlyn goes after Michelle and is then hit by Layla with a kick and the Layout neckbreaker for the win. Team LayCool appears to be back on the same page.

Drew gets the early advantage, mounting and pounding Rey, then hitting him with a backbreaker. Rey gets to his feet and hits Drew with a couple of kicks, but Drew regains the edge quickly and hits Rey with several kicks and punches. Rey eventually gets Drew with a hurricanrana that sends him into the ropes.
Rey tries for a 619 but Drew rolls to the floor. Rey quickly pursues and hits Drew outside the ring, then rolls him back in. As Rey tries to re-enter the ring, Drew slams him into the steel post and then to the canvas.

After the break, Drew has Rey in a bow and arrow submission hold. Rey gets out by flipping around on top of Drew for an unsuccessful pin attempt. Drew mounts and pounds Rey again, then picks him up and whips him hard into the corner.
Drew puts Rey on the top rope, but Rey headbutts him off, and then follows up with a seated senton. Rey goes for a springboard maneuver but is blocked by Drew. Drew charges at Rey in the corner, but Rey avoids the charge and Drew flies into the steel ring post. As Drew lay slumped on the ropes Rey hits him with a 619 and a top rope splash for the win.
After the match Cody Rhodes comes out and applauds disingenuously, then asks Rey if he has an answer for his WrestleMania challenge. Rey taunts Cody for needing his "daddy's" help.
Rey then tells Cody he wore his mask with pride when Cody ripped it off his face, and he wears it with pride now, and he will wear it with pride when he beats Cody at WrestleMania.

When we return, HHH walks to the ring to respond to the Undertakers recent comments. HHH shows a video clip of him beating people up brutally over the last several years.
HHH says that Shawn Michaels versus the Undertaker at WrestleMania the last 2 years were the best matches he's ever seen. He says that he couldn't understand why Shawn couldn't get the job done and end the streak, because he is arguably the greatest in ring performer ever.
HHH says he understood when he listened to Shawn's recent comments. Shawn said that while he approaches his matches emotionally, HHH has no feelings when he wrestles, and that is why he is never awestruck and can do unspeakably brutal things without any hint of remorse.
HHH says that while that may make him sound like a horrible person, it's true, and it's the reason he will beat the Undertaker. He says he will not become unglued by things that go bump in the night. He also thanks the Undertaker for making the match no holds barred.
In the back Christian is being interviewed by Matt Striker. Christian claims that in the last decade we've seen a lot of changes: we've seen Martha Stewart lose her freedom, Janet Jackson lose her bra, and Charlie Sheen lose his mind.
But what we haven't seen in far too long is the team that reeks of awesomeness: Edge and Christian. Edge asks Christian if he's ready, Christian says let's do this.

The match begins with Brodus and Christian. Christian lands many, many punches to Brodus before being flattened by the big man. Christian goes to the top rope and attempts a tornado DDT but is distracted by Alberto. Clay takes advantage of the distraction and knocks Christian to the floor.
Alberto slams Christian into the security barrier outside the ring and Edge chases him into the stands. Brodus rolls Christian back in and hits him with an elbow drop. Brodus goes for a cover but Christian kicks out. Brodus tags in Alberto, who mounts and pounds Christian, then works on his injured arm, twisting it in the ropes.
Alberto hits Christian in the back then puts him up on the top turnbuckle. Christian knocks Alberto away with a couple punches, and then hits him with a flying back elbow. Both men go for a tag at the same time, and Edge and Brodus both enter the ring. Edge goes for a flying cross body but Brodus catches and power slams Edge.
Brodus goes for a cover and gets two. Edge trips Brodus into the ropes and then sets him up for a spear. As Edge charges Brodus Clay, Clay runs into him and flattens him. Brodus drags Edge to the corner and charges him, but Edge rolls out of the way. Alberto hits Edge with a cheap shot and Christian goes after Alberto.
In the chaos, Christian hits Clay with a tornado DDT and Edge hits him with a flying elbow from the top rope for the win. Edge and Christian stand triumphant in the ring as the show comes to a close.
