Reported by Earnest I Aguilar The Smack is being laid Down for us this week in Providence Rhode Island. The show begins with a recap of Christian's recent heel turn and attack on Randy Orton. The first person to make his way to the ring after the opening segment is heavyweight champion Randy Orton. Orton is here to call out Christian, but is interrupted by Teddy Long. Teddy reminds Orton that he recently suffered a concussion and that Teddy has not yet received Orton's medical clearance, so he will not be allowed to fight tonight. Christian comes out to the ring next and tells Orton that he should be glad Christian gave him a concussion; now he has an excuse when Christian beats him on Sunday. Christian is interrupted by Sheamus, who reminds us that he beat Randy Orton last week, and therefore he should be the one facing Orton for the title. Christian gets angry and tells Sheamus "my match is already set, so you're going to have to wait your turn, Strawberry Shortcake." Teddy Long agrees that Sheamus has a point, so he books a match for later tonight between Christian and Sheamus. If Sheamus wins, the title match Sunday will be a 3-way between Orton, Christian, and Sheamus. If Christian wins, the match will stay as it is now; a one on one match between Orton and Christian. Teddy gives Orton his own chair to watch the match, and places it right in front of the announce table. Commercial Match: Sin Cara, Daniel Bryan, and Ezekiel Jackson versus Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase. Cody's 'baggers' hand out paper bags for the ugly fans to wear, as they do every week. Jackson and DiBiase start things off. DiBiase gets Ezekiel in a headlock, but Jackson gets out, shoulder blocks DiBiase, and then runs into him in the corner. Jackson throws DiBiase across the ring and tags in Sin Cara. Sin Cara lands a series of kicks to DiBiase and then sends him flying out of the ring with a headscissors takedown. Commercial When we return, Cody Rhodes hits Sin Cara and then puts him in a headlock. Sin Cara flips up and over Cody and then rolls him up for a two count. Cody lands a slap and a punch, Sin Cara responds by running up the ropes while holding Rhodes' arm and sending him across the ring with a flying arm drag. Cody regains the advantage and takes Sin Cara down, then tags in Wade Barrett. Wade stomps on Sin Cara and suplexes him before tagging in DiBiase. DiBiase hits Sin Cara with running knee and gets a two count. Ted goes for a suplex but Sin Cara escapes. Ted clotheslines Sin Cara and tags in Barrett. Wade kicks Sin Cara then locks him up in a bow and arrow. Sin Cara gets to his feet and lands several kicks to Barrett. Barrett responds with a kick of his own and then tries to set Sin Cara up for a gut wrench suplex but Sin Cara escapes. Barrett beats Sin Cara down and then goes for a gut wrench suplex again and Sin Cara reverses it into a modified bulldog. Wade tags in Ted DiBiase and Sin Cara tags in Daniel Bryan at the same time. Bryan lands several stiff kicks, runs up the ropes and leaps over DiBiase then takes him down with a clothesline. Ted makes his way to his feet in the corner only to be knocked back into the corner by a running drop kick from Bryan. Bryan covers DiBiase and gets the win! In the back, Matt Striker interviews Sheamus and asks him how he feels about his match tonight with Christian. He says he feels great because he is going to beat Christian tonight and then beat Randy Orton for the title on Sunday. Commercial When we return, we see a recap of Daniel Bryan's pin. The replay clearly shows the ref botched the call: DiBiase's left shoulder was up before the 3 count. Match: Kozlov versus Jinder Mahal (accompanied by the Great Khali). The two men lock up and Kozlov gets Mahal in a headlock. Mahal whips Kozlov into the ropes and Kozlov runs over Mahal. Kozlov picks Mahal up but Mahal slides out and pushes Kozlov into the corner. Mahal shoulder blocks Kozlov in the corner and then suplexes him. Mahal hits Kozlov with a knee drop and gets a two count. Mahal hits Kozlov with a high knee to the head and follows up with a Russian leg sweep. Mahal goes for a cover but Kozlov kicks out at 2. Kozlov hits Mahal with several strikes and a series of headbutts to the chest and Mahal goes down. Kozlov charges Mahal in the corner but Mahal gets out of the way. The Great Khali gets in a cheap shot and chops Kozlov in the head. Mahal hits the dazed Kozlov with a full nelson slam for the win. Commercial When we return, Josh Matthews introduces the Big Show. Matthews asks Show why he is here on Smackdown, since he is a Raw Superstar. Show replies that he heard Alberto Del Rio might be here tonight, and Big Show looks like wants revenge for being run over by Roberto Rodriguez in Alberto's car. Teddy Long comes out to tell the Big Show he is not allowed to touch Alberto tonight. Apparently Big Show may face criminal charges for the beating he gave Roberto Rodriguez last week. Teddy also says that if he allows anything like that to happen tonight, both Big Show and Teddy will lose their jobs. Big Show looks very upset. Teddy says that since Big Show is here and ready for a fight, he's booked him a match with the World's Strongest Man, Mark Henry. Commercial Match: Big Show versus Mark Henry. The match never really gets started. As Mark Henry enters the ring, Big Show boots him in the head, and then beats him down. Big Show's right hand is taped up with bright yellow tape, and he pummels Henry repeatedly with his yellow fist before knocking him out. Mark Henry stays unconscious and has to be taken away on a stretcher. In the back, Matt Striker is asking Christian how he feels about his match tonight with Sheamus. Christian says he's feeling nostalgic for the days when Teddy Long knew how to run this show, which was never. Christian is angry that he has to fight for the match he already earned, for the title he never should have lost. Match: Tamina, Rosa Mendes, and Alicia Fox versus Natalya, AJ, and Kaitlyn. Alicia and Kaitlyn start the match off and Alicia gets the early advantage. Kaitlyn is slammed into the corner but starts to fight back. Alicia tags in Tamina and Tamina knocks Kaitlyn down. Kaitlyn tags in Natalya and Natalya and Tamina lock up. Tamina appears to get the advantage but Natalya nicely reverses it into a Sharp Shooter. Tamina gets out and Natalya tags in AJ. AJ lands several strikes before being hit with a Samoan drop. Tamina covers AJ for the win. Commercial When we return, NXT winner Johnny Curtis is back to demonstrate in a literal way yet another cliche: this week he puts a golf ball into a hole, and then pulls an ace out of the hole. He will apparently be making his debut soon and wants us to know he has an 'ace in the hole'. Next week he will be saving 9 stitches with 1 in time, and also possibly counting some chickens BEFORE they hatch. Booker T has another dream about President Obama holding a press conference on Capitol Punishment. He's asked by Christian if it would be right for him to be forced to run for President again just 5 days after being elected. Cody Rhodes asks Obama if he can pass a law requiring all ugly Americans to wear a paper bag over their hideous faces. Khali and Hornswoggle make unintelligible sounds, and Obama supports Hornswoggle's aspirations. Commercial Match: Jimmy and Jay Uso versus Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater. Heath Slater and Jimmy Uso start things off. Slater puts Jimmy in a head lock, Jimmy gets out and dances. Jimmy lands a kick and knocks Slater into the corner, and then follows up with a running splash into Slater, followed by more dancing. Jimmy slams Slater's face into the corner, then climbs up the ropes and starts to rain down punches. Slater slides out from under Uso, and Uso gets caught up in the ropes. Slater tags in Gabriel and Gabriel climbs to the top rope and stomps on Jimmy. Slater and Gabriel double team Jimmy, and then Gabriel tags Slater back in. Slater puts Jimmy in a headlock, but Jimmy fights his way out of it. Slater then grabs Jimmy by the hair and slams him to the mat. Jimmy flips Slater out to the edge of the ring apron. Slater tries to fly back into the ring but is caught and power slammed by Jimmy Uso. Jimmy tags in Jay Uso as Slater tags in Gabriel. Jay gets the advantage and knocks Gabriel down in the corner, then hits him with a running ass-slam (shades of Rikishi). Justin gets tossed into the air and then put into a Samoan drop, followed up by a DDT. Heath Slater tries to come in and make the save but is super kicked out of the ring by Jimmy Uso just as Jay Uso hits Gabriel with a frog splash for the win! Commercial Alberto Del Rio makes his way to the ring in a $200,000 car. Alberto is angry with the Big Show for viciously attacking his best friend, Roberto Rodriguez. Roberto has a wife and a daughter, and he loyally follows Alberto everywhere like a dog. Alberto insists it was an accident when Big Show was run over, but tells us it was no accident when Big Show assaulted Roberto. Alberto says he would spit in the Big Show's face if he was here. At that moment, the Big Show comes running after Alberto. Alberto makes his escape through the crowd and gives Big Show a wink and a smile. The Big Show responds by going berserk and destroying everything in sight; including the announce table, some chairs, the security barrier, and even part of the ring. Alberto looks a little scared. Commercial Match: Christian versus Sheamus. After Christian and Sheamus make their way to the ring, Randy Orton makes his way to the ring and sits in the chair Teddy Long set up for him. The chair was still sitting in front of the announce table that the Big Show tipped over. The match starts off with Sheamus landing a series of strikes and a clothesline. After getting a knee lift and an Irish Whip from Sheamus, Christian rolls to the floor. Randy stands up and stares at Christian. Sheamus takes advantage of the distraction and hits Christian. Commercial When we return, Sheamus is in control and pounding Christian's chest. Christian turns it around and gets Sheamus caught up in the ropes. Christian drapes Sheamus' neck and chest across the ropes and then stands on his back, pulling on the ropes for added pressure. Sheamus gets out of the ropes and hits Christian with a back breaker then pounds on his chest repeatedly. Sheamus puts Christian in a cravat, but Christian makes his way to his feet. Sheamus hits Christian with a knee lift and then picks him up. Christian slides out and hits Sheamus with a kick. Christian grabs Sheamus' head and snaps it down across the top rope. Christian goes to the top rope for a frog splash but Sheamus rolls out of the way. Sheamus hits Christian with an elbow and then a flying shoulder block from the top rope. Christian gets a double leg takedown and goes for a pin, using the ropes for leverage. The ref catches and admonishes Christian. Sheamus trips Christian into the corner and beats on him there. Sheamus puts Christian on the top rope, but Christian then hits a tornado DDT and gets a two count. Christian sets up for a spear, but Sheamus blocks the spear attempt with a clothesline. Christian tries to hit Sheamus with the Kill Switch, but Sheamus escapes. Sheamus tries to hit Christian with the Brogue kick but Christian dodges it. Christian goes for the Kill Switch again but Sheamus counters again. Christian gets sent to the ropes and then hits Sheamus with a pendulum kick when he runs in. Christian goes to the top rope and Sheamus goes after him. Sheamus tries to hit Christian with a superplex, but Christian blocks and drops backwards, sending Sheamus head first into the steel post. Sheamus falls to the canvas where Christian covers him for the win. After the match, Randy Orton runs into the ring after Christian, and Christian runs away up the entrance ramp. Orton stares at Christian, then slowly turns his attention to the barely conscious Sheamus. Randy enters the ring and punts Sheamus in the head as Christian watches with fear in his eyes. The show comes to a close with Randy Orton posing with his title in the ring as Christian stares from the ramp. |
